I have Express Scripts and was readily approved for Solvaldi, before Harvoni existed. The price isn't very different between the two, especially when you factor in the price of Interferon and Ribivirin, it probably costs the same. It was supplied by a local specialty pharmacy, rather than coming through the mail from Las Vegas like my typical meds.

Thanks for that info, SS. Hopefully this happens for you. There was a forum member a couple of days ago denied for Harvoni via UHC. I think it was Swarm?
Anyway, definitely keep us posted. My attempt was in March of 2014 for Sovaldi alone. my fingers are crossed for you.
I hope UHC is better to you than they have been with me and others. Maybe since you have Cirhosis they will approve? I would start filling out the application paperwork to Support Path as a backup plan with your doctor.
It took months for UHC to deny my two appeals and consumed significant amounts of time for my medical assistant. I'm changing insurance companies this month during open season after being told UHC is the worst insurance company my dr. Office has ever dealt with For HCV.
Oh and Express Scripts is likely to call you multiple times daily to say "they are about to ship your prescription" but it never happened for me. Thankfully Support Path was good to me.
Hopefully your experience is much, much better. Good luck and keep us posted.
