I just finished this treatment a few weeks ago and my numbers are:
Eosinophils: 6.3%
Basophils 0.5%
Bilirubin Total 0.6
Thanks - those are some reassuring numbers. Hope you get to add those three happy little letters to them soon!

Hey Rudi,
You pretty much hit it on the head, it's due to your immune system going full Rambo on the virus! Not to worry at all, they will do a lot of fluctuating and as long as you're getting weekly labs, your doctor will have an alert eye on all of that? Good luck Roo...

PS: Love 1st Class!

Thanks everyone! My doctor called and said my labs were great. I'm doing labs weekly because I never want to wind up in the very scary hospital here. Still wondering what makes the eosinophils & basophils go up - not worried, just curious. Is that my immune system on full Rambo?
Thanks for the laugh Gator Man! Some of us are cruising first class and some of us are bumping along in the box cars. Last stop is still SVRVILLE!
I had similar blood results. My doc wasn't concerned about it one bit. My bili spike towards the middle of Tx.
Good luck!

Yes, S/O is so YESTERDAY! Now we will become HCV tx snobs.
I don't usually take cutting edge HCV drugs, but when I do, its Harvoni.

Hi RudiRoo:
I wasn't on this combo but from everything I have read and heard this is not unusual and certainly would not indicate an allergic reaction. Olysio is absorbed at varying rates in different people and has been known to can effect bilirubin levels in particular. I would just keep a close eye on this for the time being. Maybe blood test a bit more frequently until your doc is sure all is well.

I admit I have a preference for the "nuc" and only Gilead makes it. I guess that makes me a tx snob too.
Whatever you pair up the nuc with it should be good. At least from what we know now. In 5 years I could be eating my words.

I had a mild increase in bilirubin to 1.5 and a slight increase in part of my differential count, although I don't recall which cells. My doctor wasn't concerned and said this was quite normal, particularly with Olysio and your bilirubin will spike and then decline during Tx. Everything has returned to the normal range, and my bilirubin is at .9 at EOT +26 weeks. I think the rest of your symptoms are not unusual either, but I would certainly inform your doctor at the next exam or earlier if they get more pronounced.

Good luck and keep us posted!

I think it's common for bilirubin to go up doing treatment as the meds flush out the virus. I believe the other two are white blood cells, so their increase should be a good thing. It sounds like it's fighting the virus and all, but I don't really know.

Got my two week labs back and my Eosinophils were 6% (0-4 normal) and Basophils 3% (0-3 normal) were high.
Is this an allergy? Also my bilirubin went from .05 to 1.0 which is the highest normal value.
I can't find this on either Sovaldi or Olysio's prescribing info and I don't know what it means. I've been tired and nauseaus but no rash. Mild intermittent itching and brain fog also. No rash or other allergy signs.
Thanks - those are some reassuring numbers. Hope you get to add those three happy little letters to them soon!
