It takes about 6 months for the riba to completely leave your body, Nicole. I just had a look at the full prescribing information for Sovaldi and this is the advice given...
"When SOVALDI is used in combination with ribavirin or peginterferon alfa/ribavirin, women of childbearing potential and their male partners must use two forms of effective contraception during treatment and for at least 6 months after treatment has concluded."
So after the 6 month post tx point has past then you`ll be free to start planning your baby.
Good luck, happy times ahead!!

I feel for you with the hair loss, Nicole, and I remember mine continued to fall out for few weeks post tx. I agree with Malcolm that it should ease off and start growing back within the next few weeks as the riba clears from your system. I know how annoying it is having hair falling out everywhere but the main thing is you`ve got through your tx and you`re heading towards SVR!!

Hi Nicole,
Congrats on the 8w-post Undetected. You're almost home.
Hair loss continues for a while as Riba is slow to leave the system. It'll gradually improve and by week 12 I'm sure it will be growing back, better than ever. Cheers.

Hi Nicole, good to hear from you, and congrats on still being UND!
I think at this stage, 8 weeks post tx, your chances of SVR are looking very promising indeed, so go with your feelings of optimism and keep looking forward. I know this time of waiting must be hard for you after your bad experience last time with the victrelis triple but this time you had Sovaldi in the mix.
Really pleased you`re feeling so much better already...onwards to SVR!!

Being UND for so long you had a good chance of being SVR. Feeling better is also a good sign. Keep thinking positive. I know it was difficult waiting for the news and I tried to think about it as little as possible until a couple of weeks before hearing that I was SVR. Live and try not to dwell on your status, but do eat healthy and get plenty of exercise. Hope to hear good news from you soon.

We can never know the future but there is every reason to believe you are going to beat this bug once and for all. I'm really glad to hear the SEs & symptoms clear quickly.
I have this theory about how minds are affected when bodies are fighting off a major infection. I think it stimulates the flight/fight response or at least makes it more sensitive. HCV can be subtle, but increased confidence and a sense of well being when cured fits my theory.
Full steam ahead!

I can't explain it really. I just feel different. Like clear. Not tired or foggy all the time. I felt confident at the 4 week mark I was und and at the 8 week mark. I hope it stays und. When I relapse w victrelis. I felt like I wasn't surprised. Like I could tell I still didn't feel good.
