Congratulations to Sara and Barnacle. You made it. Enjoy your hep free lives. These new meds are sugh miracles. It's nice seeing so many SVRs and UNDs being reported. Now if the pharmaceutical companies would just make it affordable to everyone and insurance companies would just approve meds early. That is my hope for 2015

Hey Sara
Congrats on the 6 month report, its really inspiring to hear F4 patients achieve SVR and go on to live a full life. Keep up the healthy lifestyle it will help in recovering your liver back to where it once was.

Awesome news. As opposed to my previous physician, my current physician expects my liver to continue to recover.

Got my stomach biopsy results today - only remark on the letter was "inflammation". Thank you God!
I'm looking forward to Christmas with my family and especially celebrating with my almost 2 year old grandson - what a joy that will be!

Hi Sara,
Really good news. The portal hypertensive gastropathy will resolve as the portal hypertension reduces after SVR. So, no need to worry about developing varices anymore.
After having yearly gastroscopies for the last 15 years, I can cross that one off my list. You should probably get a follow-up before being given the all clear. Cheers.

Hope they did the upper 1st ! Just messin with ya Gator........Just got back from 3 month MRI and labs, and I get my yearly EGD done Monday.
Waitin for the Mrs. To call me from work as she's having one of my IR docs read my MRI and let me know if the remaining HCC lesion got larger and if there is any new ones....I'm praying for the best.... but I'm also a bit nervous, as I've had some reference pain to that upper right area where the ablation was done in Sept. getting more noticeable as of late. Just have to wait and see.

Well Duane, what order they did the EGD/colonoscopy in I can't say because I was sedated. Hmm . . . do you think my insulting the doc's alma mater just before he started . . . oh boy, I just lost my appetite.
On a more serious note, we're all praying for you and I hope the pain is unrelated to the HCC lesion or a significant health problem.

Good news on your EGD! I have an upcoming ultrasound before the end of the year, my third since F4 cirrhosis dx. Your post reminded me to check on the scheduling.
I got a 2 for 1 special, EGD and colonoscopy last January. No indication of varices, so I'm not sure when I will need another EGD.
Happy Holidays to you as well!

Had my EGD done this week - esophagus normal - mild portal hypertensive gastropathy in the gastric body - stomach was biopsied - duodenum normal - no visualized esophageal or gastric varices.
Considering my F4 cirrhosis dx, I'm very relieved as this is the first EGD I've had in years.
A friendly reminder for all of us with cirrhosis dx - don't forget to get your ultrasounds and EGD's when needed.
