Thanks folks for all the well wishes. Been spending a lot of time with family members reflecting on all the wonderful times we've spent together. Sort of sad seeing her dog continue to sleep at the foot of her bed each night. Our days are numbered, so much the reason to let those you care about know how much they are loved. Every day a gift. Sorry, didn't mean to upset the theme of the thread.

So sad to hear of your loss Greg. I lost my mom this year too. It can take a long time to wrestle your way through all the emotions, especially for caretakers. Hugs and comfort to you.

I also got a nasty virus early on in tx. Mostly confined to chest, coughing, congestion, phlegm, and general malaise. Never had much fever but the cough held on for several weeks. I took as few meds as possible and just waited it out. Thankfully doing better now. My mom had been ill and was hospitalized with CHF. She passed a few days ago. She will be missed by family and friends.

At day 5 of treatment I came down with the crud and at first wasn't sure which symptoms to blame on Harvoni and which to blame on the G/I bug. I used tylenol a couple times, drank lots of water and tea, used a saline nasal spray, and slept a lot. I think I worried most of all about upchucking my Harvoni and having to retake it!! My physicians suggested resting as much as I could and to avoid getting dehydrated. I'd suggest the same to you, fourlocos, try to sleep through it and baby yourself. Your poor body is going through a lot right now so make healing yourself your priority. If you can, take a day or two off work and let others take care of you. I am sorry you feel poorly. Hope you heal quickly.

I had a sore throat and flu like symptoms, too. I still have a cough. My voice was hoarse for a day and a half at about 2 weeks in. I drank hot tea, used pain relieving ointments, took warm baths and got all the sleep I could get.
Was it side effects or just a low immune system fighting off this & that? I don't know. I'm sick again this week (throat sore, tummy upset, night sweats) but it has not become a full blown flu, thankfully.

I am on day 13 of my treatment. Was an unlucky number for me I guess because I started out fine when I headed into work today. Within a half an hour I started getting chills and then a sore throat. I could barely drive home I was so messed up. Not being able to really take anything but maybe a couple Tylenol which they prefer I don't, what the heck do you do? I am so miserable right now. No fever oddly enough but the muscle and joint pain is unbearable. Fuzzy head and the sore throat. I will call the GI doctor tomorrow to discuss but wondered if anyone else got the bad bug going around while on treatment?
