Dude, that lung of yours has been giving you trouble for too long! I hope the surgery will correct that defect and keep that thing inflated. Those chest tubes are like something out of the Middle Ages! Be cautious with the narcotics. I'm glad that you're taking their capacity to draw you in and not let go seriously. I've got too much familiarity with that issue and it's not an easy thing to deal with, ever. That monkey is not your friend....

I'm sorry your Dad is having his own set of problems right now as well. We never know what tomorrow might bring. So living for today and hoping for tomorrow is a realistic approach. Keep yourself healthy as possible, heal from this last setback and move forward. Sometimes the things that hurt us have a way of providing the tools we need to deal with some of life's other challenges. Those days that make taking a step forward difficult come too often sometimes. When that happens, the best thing to do is just keep trying. You've got the wisdom to know that obviously, so keep trying is always my best advice.

Stay in touch and when you hear something regarding treatment, I want you to check back and let us know. Sounds like the payment assistance programs will provide you some help. You meet the requirements so far. Keep on your doctor and get those requests submitted. They have come through for several others so far and I hope will do the same for you.

Hang in there Josh. Maintain a healthy lifestyle and hold on to your optimism. If you can do that, I know you'll make it around this latest detour and get back on track. Good luck and if you need help with a spell checker, I'm your man, lol!

Good to hear from you Josh.  Dealing with all that comes with this disease is not easy.  Somehow we find a way carry on.  Like you, I find focusing on the positive and being thankful for the good things we have in our lives really helps.  Each day is new and special.  Each affords us new opportunities.  Hope you have a great day.  Take care.

           wellll.s*** where to start its 1030pm 3-4-15 i just got done reading posts everything from new people who have arrived here yes i see that you guys greet every new person :) which more then i do :) applauds you on your kindness....       well i had 3 collapsed lungs 30 percent since Nov 5th january 28th and februaury 13 th ... i i saw a specialist and two days after seeing him surgerys was performed...

VATS with wedge resectioning and mechanical pleurdesis of the right lung follow up tuesday next week ... X ray... and report of what i feel....  pain is constant id say a 5-6

iwas prescribed oxycodone 5mg... dont really take m but i have m... i take ibuprfen,,,sumtimes tylenol/acetomonophen.. or hydra-codone I have access to many pills i just dont really use them but there within arms reach..... i was on Dilauded 1mg every 4 hours for 5 days at hospital procedure was 2-24-15 ...Opiates are what there advertised if you dont do them be aware that if you do them for 3 days or more you will have physical withdrawl not mental..... anxiety..coldsweat ....increased hart rate ... so only take if you absolutly need to Save them for a rainy day if u do not... Like i do....

      may take an Oxy tommorow i dont know..... ibuprofen and advil... barely knock pain scale down you mailny take it to take the edge off i mean you hurt more then a little but you can tolerate it even without pills... just more comfortable if u do take m.....so theres that :) should prevent future collapses .... No charge ZERO dollars

     NEXT after not drinking after what since June 1st of last year ... i sorta legitametly said DONE... i sumtimes have 1 or 2 beers not eveyday but if questioned i just deny it.....

iLL stop again if i ever get treatment:) which by this point will only mean if i get support path Harvoni or Vikira Pak...yes ive been denied 1nce through my insurance for both ..so that two and i have the letters ...the gastro is setting up appeal number 2 then will proceed with support paths ...if shot down for those iLL proably just laugh.... ...we all know how biased insurance is... there good and bad in how they handle things ...more bad then good based on money alota times...which shouldnt be.....

     Um i dont really smoke my e-cigaret or use nicotene patches too much anymore... i may do them again later i dont know....

my aunt told me one time Life is a crap shoot sum people can do alota things sum not so much....... Ive seen it all ive seen people who do no drugs or alcohol die from cancer or get it.. ive seen people who have abused drugs and alcohol clear viruses when others cant ... sure everyone may think they know sumthing and maybe we do but theres alot still to be determined.......

 i kinda knew the road would go this way in fact if you read my previous entries youll figure out how pretty spot on i was at projecting all of this..... even that far out... so not surprising...

you expect the worse so u plan for it anything else is considered Grace........LOL youll have to throw more then Physical and financial parelle at me to slow me down :)

   ya my dad just did his 2nd dose of Talib chemo Talub .. Tsumthin...4th week 1 dose every 3 weeks duration unkown.... hes on hydromorphone..and phetinol and Gabapentin...and when he dosent stay ahead of his pain in his lowerback or bones ? ive seen him rive on the ground .... course i watch that for like 2minuets then pretend i never saw that........ hes on like 13 different meds ...be lying if didnt think his days are numberd stage 4 ....  cancer goes 1 of 2 ways... Remission or Death ..do not kid yourself...... be aware at all times of all possibilities and outcomes and you may be better equpid to deal with these outcomes if and when they happen........ not happy times watching that......usually hes gone 90 miles north at a friends house and i chill bymyself with my own 

stuff :)     

   Dont get me wrong here peoples as sad or depressing as all that crap i just listed is that aint nothing ... i live a pretty happy life enjoying my time ...reading news ..helping others ... taking care of pets...  so no for the most part none of it has mentaly gotten to me.... ad thing we will all experience it .. Its how you deal with it..... but there are Friends you guys included familiy 1 in the same pretty much.... that are always there for us... for understanding and counsel....

   Im doing fine my right side hurts a little :)  but i though id Drop a little TRUTH on ya cause everyone Likes Honesty even if its not good news it isnt Lies either... :)

Everything and every1 looks great here :) i may be gone here and there but im never gone whther i have Hep C get rid of it ... whatever If i have internet access which is pretty easy to get...  i will always be here .. I dont see why id  leave or not check in just because i got cured or svrd.....  you guys are pretty sharp and intelligent and caring... and i dont know if youve looked around lately but sumtimes those people are hard to come by or find...   ILL be in contact or try to be alitle more then 1nce a month ........
