Thanks all!! My enchiladas were delicious! I see the GI liver doctor on April 9th. He said they would be following me for a couple years with ultrasounds and blood work. Those that have reached SVR, do you ever trust that your in the clear?
Once I`d had my 6 months post tx SVR result yes I did trust it, in fact I knew it had gone before that because I could really feel the improvement in my health and energy levels by then. The only time I haven`t been sure was late last summer, 3 years post SVR, because I was feeling so tired and generally unwell. So I asked my GP for a VL test and thank goodness the result showed that I was still clear from Hep C, which was good to know!
Glad you enjoyed your enchiladas, FL, you`ll be having another celebration soon, after your 12 wks post EOT result!!

FL,
I absolutely believe that I'm in the clear now. My generation of care (a whole year and a half ago) required us to wait for SVR 24 before calling us clear. After extensive research, along with the new protocols, they determined that after SVR 12, the rate of relapse was 1/2% or less and felt that could drop even lower with time. So the conclusion is, when you get that next undetected viral load, you can consider yourself done. Relax, you got this!

Hi FL,
Congratulations!! I knew you would still be undetected. Let me happily say, I told you so, lol! The rates of SVR following an SVR 4 are very close to SVR 12, so SVR 8 is great! I would be confident that this will turn out as you (we) hope. This should lift some weight off your chest and at least allow you to breath easier. It's a big step, put that little step to rest. This really is the first milestone after EOT, so revel in the moment!! Now on to the second, SVR 12. Remember that the rate of relapse after SVR 12 is less than 1%, concentrate on that thought. Stay positive, you'll feel better and will let you enjoy what you have already accomplished.
WOOT!

It's hard to type it correctly. Some might think undetected at 8 weeks which I was. But this was after it ended...... my doctor wanted me to wait till 12 weeks eot. But I was so concerned reading about several relapses that I requested a test sooner and they agreed. It does help emotionally for sure. But I don't think I will feel at ease for another 6 months at least.

I was shaking when that email came in that my results were posted on my chart. Hoped for this but then was prepared for the worst. I was on the 8 week Harvoni plan and wasn't sure it was long enough. I will test again in another 4 weeks. For now I can breathe a sigh of relief. I feel blessed. This might bring hope to the other ones that are on 8 weeks. Praying for it to last. Thanks for the support.
Congratulations FL!!!
