Thanks for all the kind wishes, especially to my treatment buddies! We are the first wave of Sovaldi veterans and have been fortunate in how well it worked. As Malcolm recently posted, we're not at 100% SVR just yet, but with new drugs in the pipeline and tweaking the combinations and duration, we'll get there. I look forward to the day, hopefully in not too many years, when we relegate Hepatitis C to the dust bin of diseases.
In addition to my EOT anniversary, I also had my annual physical the following week. Everything normal with a clean bill of health, even with cirrhosis. I've come a long way from being told that I was heading down the road of ESLD and my life expectancy was a matters of a few years.
Now that I have slayed the dragon, I feel like the Chicago Cubs at the start of baseball season; all good things are now possible.
May a Hep C free life be in everyone's future!

Can't believe I only just saw this post now. Great news, John....my awesome treatment buddy .
I will be getting checked again when I go for annual physical in June. I did have VL drawn end of January and negative for the virus then. Odd though, my AFP was slightly elevated. Was never out of range before. Will request that it be repeated at physical, as well.

John,
Awesome news! It's always in the back of my mind that just a few months ago we had an active virus. This kind of reassurance never gets old! Congrats Buddy!!

My doctor called and left a message: UND on VL and all lab values in normal range. He didn't give exact numbers, but did state that ALT/AST were in the twenties and had a normal/good PTT. I've been pretty confident after reaching SVR 12 that I had slayed the dragon permanently; however, it's still nice to hear confirmation and a good milestone on the path to the rest of my life.
After my wife, I thought I would share the news with my forum friends next.
