It's worth peace of mind to get a check up. I have pain on my right side but ultrasound looks good. I think my liver is sluggish due to I have lots of liver damage but Thankfully Hep C free for 2 years and my liver is working perfectly. I can't eat popcorn anymore or I get lots of pain in that area. Congratulations on achieving SVR!!!!

Hi Nicole,
'Liver' pain is a vague term. Do you mean pain in the R. upper abdomen?
The liver does not contain 'pain' nerves, but the liver capsule does. True liver pain may occur when the liver capsule is stretched, usually from inflammation.
More likely causes of pain in this region are gallbladder, pancreas, R kidney and muscles. The first thing to do is get an Ultrasound to check for gallstones or gallbladder disease.
A 'heavy' feeling in the liver is quite common in cirrhotics. If you're worried, get it checked out.

Hello Nicole
Nice to hear from you, the first thing I would ask does the pain happen after you eat or drink something? The next would be when was the last liver scan or Ultrasound done on your liver? I think we all get minor pain in various areas of our bodies from time to time, but if its consistence I would have it checked out.

Why am I still having weird pains and aches off and on after svr? I had zero damage 7 years ago when I had a biopsy. Should I call my doctor?
