Scott that is funny! Spend money.

I was on Riba for three months in which time I bought 5 watches. What am I going to do with 5 watches?

Thanks for all the kind words everyone.

Tig, I will set up the follow up alarm now.

Well the depression the last couple of weeks has caused me to start a million projects.  When I get depressed, I am not laid up in bed like some people, I look for a rush of some sort.  So my rush, is spending money, since I can't drink or partake in  any other unhealthy things.   I redid my garage, wired up all remote lighting and have motion sensors in bathrooms and closets.  I have them hooked to a hub where I can activate lights from my phone.  100's of dollars  that  I didn't need to spend but it has kept my mind off feeling bad.   Each of these projects take 3 to 4 times longer than they should because I lose everything.

Today, I shall buy stuff to make my jeep Hard top dolly to store it in the garage.  Then maybe build half of it before my 2 hour nap that I must take or I feel really strange.  No nap = people turn into cardboard cut-outs.  Then they begin to move again.  LOL  It is some sort of a hallucination that I have figured out is from sleep dep.

Thanks for the Hugs!!!

Hi Scott,

i felt all you are going through so recently. I spent the the last two weeks basically crying in my bed. So disinclined to see any one from the outside world - just as well really as all I wanted to do was rip people's heads off.

I did get permission to take sof/dac and riba for another 12 weeks but I think they decided I was turning into a head case. The really hard add on is that your short term memory is shot and you feel as though you can't trust yourself to think logically any more.

It does hang around for quite a while but the mental relief was dramatic. I could feel my head being emptied of it, over about a four day period.

So hang in there, the time will pass and the end results will make it all worthwhile.

Big hugs from Riba heads everywhere.

Syd

Canuck, If you don't have a pill counter then please get one. It's been 15 months since I've taken riba but I still need my pill counter. It tells me if I missed a dose of my current meds but more importantly, it keeps me from taking 2 doses. smile

Hey Scott,

AAh, THERE YOU ARE!

Missed you around here.

You disappeared off the face of the computer for while.

Glad you're back!

Just to let you know, I forgot to take my pill today!! Ended up taking it 2 1/2 hours late! And I'm not even ON riba!!!

And, one day, I had to actually count my pills, because I could not (for sure) recall whether I had taken it, or not.

Hi Scott,

Good to see ya!

The last two weeks have been more difficult than the rest for me.

And like you said, time seemed to just stop here at the end. LOL, did you see the video I posted below for the classic movie "The Day The Earth Stood Still".

In a fog that's beginning to feel like the norm.

I actually find myself wondering what feeling normal will be like ... strange, huh?

Yup, almost there Scott ... keep us posted, even though the brain's toasted, LOL

... geez, I really am unhinged ... bla, bla, bla ... drifting off into the fog ...

Dave

Hang in there Scott! You're knocking them down, one long day at a time, but you're still achieving the goal you set out to complete.

Pill containers and alarms are a Godsend. I relied on them throughout treatment. I understand the memory loss and brain fog well. It was debilitating on some days. Have someone with you if you have to make any important decisions. I made statements that were completely different than what I intended to say.

I'm glad you checked in too! You might set a follow up alarm, 15 minutes after the first. I did and it reminded me more than once that I had turned off the first.

We are almost there.  Boy it is getting tough.  Days are going by super slow.  Oh crap, speaking of that, I need to take my night dose.  Why didn't my alarm go off.  Or did it, and did I take it?  I can't remember the last 3 hours.  I can't  wait to get my brain back.  Good thing for pill counters.  I better go check.

Didn't take it.  Glad I checked in.  I haven't missed a dose yet, at least, I don't think I have.

I'm still a little upset that they added that 10th seat to each row, as if 9 wasn't enough already ...

Please put your trays in the upright condition.

Also bring your seat backs to the forward condition.

Check around your seats for any items you may have forgotten.

Be advised the contents of the overhead compartments may have shifted during certain fits of rage.

Remain seated with your seat belts fastened as we approach your final destination.

Thank you for traveling with us.

Hi Tig,

Nice Welcome Home that you have planned Thank You smile ... I agree with your assessment regarding getting Iron from nutrition rather than supliment.

I quit making the smoothies due to low energy, no smoothies means low energy ... vicious circle ... once I regain a little of that valuable commodity (energy) then I'll get on path ot good nutrition, exercise and all.

I will wait for another PCP visit to discuss other than Hb, ALT RNA tests... Have to keep visits simple and specific ... if I throw too much on the doctors plate she will spend most of the visit explaining why she can't address it all. I don't envy the pressure she's under to get through as many patients as she does, plus a marriage, plus two kids etc.

Tomorrow will be an upbeat visit though, all is good.

Thanks,

Dave smile

Hey Dave,

Good news, the Drones turned back... said there was evidence made available that no further intervention was required. I tried to hook you up for another 3 months, but it appears as though you're cleared to approach EOTville on Track #1. WOOT!! Short is always a great place to be when treatment is the topic of conversation.

I would wait to see what your Iron levels are. If you don't need it, I wouldn't put the added strain on my liver to process a supplement. Getting it from dietary sources is far better anyway. Whip out that Master Blaster Blender and get to Smoothying. That's a word, never you mind! Talk about energy levels, I was reviewing some online lab reports from my SVR 1 year paperwork. Way in the back was a Testosterone level, no wonder I'm weak, losing muscle and gaining a belly, it was only 92! I'm surprised my voice hasn't changed. Must be why I'm driving a Toyota Echo (not a KIA, Wendy) and tear up over some sappy movie. Low normal is 300 for crying out loud! Maybe you better get yours checked. It might super charge us! Might super charge something, eh? (Don't go there, Syd). Check your B12 too.

Anyway, I'll be the fuzzy faced guy waiting at the station with the hand cart, for your luggage tomorrow. I figured that's the least I could do to welcome home our newest graduate! You're down to a Wakeup now. It's gonna be a wonderful day in Dave's neighborhood! I'll bring your favorite little cardigan sweater in case it's cold, ha!

... just 10 pills away from EOT,  Mike, you can help me count these ... smile

Worked to get my papers in order for tomorrow's visit to my PCP

On the agenda will be to find out Hemoglobin and ALT from labs last week (CBC & CMP)

Will also ask my PCP for HCV RNA on May 10 (EOT+4wks) ... and check to be sure the Specialist sent an order to my PCP for final HCV RNA on July 5 (EOT+12wks)

No idea if PCP will order the EOT+4 RNA ... she didn't seem too keen on it last time I mentioned it (fingers crossed).

I'll be asking PCP about restarting Iron supplement when finished with Sov/ Riba and best strategy to get strength/ stamina back to norm.

SHORT! biggrin

Dave

Hang in there Scott, Dave and SF.

Looks like you're all going to get to the finish line pretty soon. That Riba will take you down and shake you out. But it will all be worthwhile when you're cruising around virus free.

The Drones are bringing you 3 more bottles of everything. Better load the shotgun, better get out those Dragons Breath loads...

I have the recall codes and can be bought. Consider it pharmaceutical terrorism! If you make it to Tuesday, you're safe. The batteries were getting low, so you might get lucky. I'm happy for ya dude! You've handled it with strength and determination (most of the time)! We're proud of ya for hangin in there! 1 more and a wakeup. Awesome!

Syd,

I'm intensely attracted to the new you! The cigar and laid back posture is so becoming of the lady hiding within and asking to be set free. You would be right at home in our city of New Orleans in that outfit. You would fit right in to the Mardi Gras spirit!

You're right of course, Mike is fully capable of his own obnoxious releases. Whatever form they come in! He does appear to be kind of handy in the kitchen too. I'll be making up some Chicken Vegetable this week and Dave's cornbread sounds good too.

                                                   biggrin

SF,

The time is short, keep sippin and keep your eyes on the prize! EOTville, next stop for so many in the coming days. We're going to have a lot of celebrating going on!

                                                   smile

Scott,

You hang in there Brother! You'll get to the end and it's going to work this time. The last week is taxing on you emotionally and physically. You've made it through another one and that's a huge accomplishment alone. You're quite the experienced Warrior and have managed to get past 3 rounds of some very powerful drugs and the sfx they all present along the way. You'll recover in time from this and your spirits will be much improved. I had to take anti depressants to get beyond the worst of the depression. Anything with Riba can definitely put a dent in your mood... If you have managed without them, you'll hopefully notice  some quick improvements after tx ends. Staying rested and hydrated will help the most in the short term, so take it easy til the end. It's not far away!

Hi Scott,

Last week, it's REALLY IMPORTANT now to stay Hydrated ... I nearly passed out in the grocery store the other day, just eat, hydrate and move slow, you'll be fine.

Take a few days off as needed. I'm still on 1200mg Riba, no idea where my hemoglobin level is but will find out on Tuesday ... I'm sure it's way down.

You're almost there Scott, good job!

Please keep us posted smile

Dave

SF,

Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated!

You're getting close too ... won't be long ... same advice, of course ... we're all in this together.

Thanks for posting,

Dave

Haven't been here in a while.  I have 9 days of treatment left.  They have lowered my Riba because my Hemo has dropped below 11.  Just lowered it to 800 mg per day.  I am feeling so tired now and I have pain again in my right quadrant.  I feel like I am taking a million pills and they haven't tested my LFT's since before treatment.  I am depressed and in a daze half the time.

Hey Dave, how has your last week been?  I'll read through a few, just worn down and trying to work and keep busy because of the depression.  Since I stopped coming on the site, I have been feeling great.  Just trucking along.  Not so much now.  These are going to be the longest 9 days ever.

Hope all is well with everyone.

Hey Tig,

just voicing a cry of unfair here. Mike is quite capable of coming up with his own contributions and any connection to bodily functions - be they solid, gaseous or fluid - is in this case totally unrelated to what goes on in the mind of any other member. Jimmy and my good self included.

My Chinese student asked me if I played lawn bowls today. I was horrified. I had to show him this photo to show him the old lady I am working on becoming.

: ) Syd

Hi Kristen,

Very nice to meet you, I'm glad you stopped by to say hello, Thank You.

I can really appreciate that you've been down this very road. (I imagine reading this thread was a bit strange and hopefully entertaining.

LOL, I've ... Yes ... I've ... come Unhinged, for sure, I have!

I've tried t keep the reading light and fun ... probably reflects that I got a little depressed along the way but heck with it, I'll make fun of that as well.

Feels great to be getting so close to EOT. While I'm glad to have taken Sov/ Riba to kill the Beast within,  what a long strange trip it's been.

I will be very glad to get beyond the meds and start to enjoy life with a new outlook.

Yup, almost there ... smile

May not get another Viral Load test until EOT+12 but I have no doubt that the dragon is dead and gone ... just know.

Thanks again and I look forward to reading many more of your posts, hope you stay around so I can get to know ya better.

Dave

Hey Dave - we haven't had the pleasure of meeting as I've been incognito for the last year after receiving my SVR52 results last May but popped in today. As a fellow GT2 who did Sovaldi + Riba I took some time to read this thread from the beginning and thoroughly enjoyed the updates on your battles so I wanted to say hello and thank you for the laughs this evening.  I see your war will come to an end in just a few hours and your saga certainly brought me back to my experience 2 years ago!  I think the funniest part of reading your stuff from beginning of treatment to now (in one sitting) is that with all due respect, I picked up on the fact you've become a little unhinged. I know you don't know me but I 100% say that with the utmost respect and love!  It's a good thing - means the drugs are working! LOL    I remember being all put together about the whole ordeal in the beginning and by the end I used to tell people I was like a puppet in the hands of some evil puppet master ... looking in from the outside or something. I gave zero sh!t about much by the end aside from popping those last pills. You have done well and you've certainly kept Tig entertained.  I feel like Tig is like my cool uncle who would sneak me french fries before dinner and he was certainly one of my rocks through treatment.

So like I said - just wanted to pop in, introduce myself, say thanks for the laughs and say YOU GOT THIS!  Well done!

Oh man Dave, just when it was getting good it ended! I love those old movies! I think if this happened in Washington DC today, there'd be so many protestors and signs, Spaceman Klaatu would've turned around and left...

Hey Mike,

If you look closely at the photo of your artillery piece, check out the smoke at the end of the barrel. Kinda looks to me like somebody sitting there with their arms crossed and ripping off one incredible fart. Is that the release of one gaseous Dragon fart or what? Who put you up to that, Syd or Jimmy? They both like the subject of gaseous emissions!

You're getting close Brother! Less than a week and a wake up! HOOAHH!!

Here's what it looks like when your Dragon exhales it last breath...
