Malcom is right about the bilirubin...I have experienced this pretty bad in the past and extra bile salts can cause your skin to itch.

I was itching after treatment and had some rash/dermatitis on my chest, neck, behind ears, and on my eyelids.  My dermatologist said she had a hep c patient the week before with exact same symptoms.  She perscribed me triamcinolone acetonide ointment and it has been a miracle!  I am on it for 10 days and at day2 it was already cleared up.  I am still treating for 10 days but so much happier :)

Hi Tazkat, hope the itching has improved. Have you had your bilirubin checked lately? If this is normal, the itching is unlikely to be related to your liver or gallstones. As you can't do the AP's again, I would try to get on a GS7977 trial. Your doc should be able to find out whether this is possible.

Hi again,Taz, there are new tx therapies in the pipeline, and the one that looks the most promising at the moment is GS7977. Have a look at this thread of Jim`s in the "Non Responders" area, he`s almost at the end of an interferon free clinical trial with this drug and doing amazingly well, with virus undetectable from day 14.  He has kindly kept a journal of his progress -

All the best, Jill xx

i was on incivek. was on 32 weeks had to get off due to toothache. two weeks later i had viral test done & had relapsed. so not sure when. i was thinking while i was on the onterferon & riba. my dosage of riba had been lowered extensively. so.. i wonder agaon.. :)  now to wait on something new with NO interferon i hope. hope the itching is from dehydration & no hormones. :) thanks guys!!!!

Hi TazKat:

What genotype are you? and were you on triple treatment with incivek when you relapsed? Try milk thislte and liver care, they might help.

Hi sorry to hear that you relapsed, but don't give up, new meds are around the corner! I relapsed last time in my 47th week out of 48, sucked unbelievably...Regarding itching, check with your doc if you have gallbladder disease, itching is very well related in my case to that. Also read this article my doc sent me when I was bugging him about my freaking itch, I hope it helps. http://www.hcvadvocate.org/hepatitis/factsheets_pdf/pruritus.pdf

i have been itching like crazy. seems everywhere. i am also on NO hormones. i went to skin doc because i started itching til i got little sores. he gave me steroid cream, then went to a reg doc & he gace me a cream & antibiotics that seem to clear SOME of it up. my head itches, feet, legs stomach.. freaking everywhere. my viral load was at582,000 three months ago when i relapsed. could his bad ass itching be related with hep c? i know it can happen or is that i am stage 3 flirting 4 making it worse..  geez so many questions.. has anybody heard if any other meds are being developed without  protease inhibitor? this all just sucks./ idid 32 weeks of treatment  & relapsing sucks!!! no
