I would say slather it on as long as you are not violating some sort of dosing limits. In our predicament, we get a little bit of license where doses are concerned. We are very careful and attentive to signals from our bodies, so some interpretation on our parts is acceptable. The only caution is for aspirin and other things that are known to affect the liver.

I agree with what news says.  Eventually you will know where the rash is popping up and you can slather it on as a preventitive measure.  I did not use this particular cream but did use a lot of hydrocortizone cream AND Benedryl cream.  The benedryl cream actually works very well too.  Two words, DONT SCRATCH!  Makes it worse.  I would put on cream and just bite the bullet for a couple minutes til the itch died.  I would have my wife completely cover my back with hydrocortizone creme every day.  Gotta stay on top of it.  Nip it in the bud as much as possible.

Julie,
The cream Helped me too.
I had rash on arm and chest
Back of neck and places on back.
These same areas still flare up but
Go away once I use med and sometimes
They just leave on their own.
My NP recommended this when rash was so painful and spreading:
Apply cream wait 30 minutes and lather Vaseline
On rash.
Steer clear if hot baths. I used oatmeal bath too
When I was stinging all over, also used apple
Cider vinegar in tub once.
It's rough I know. So glad u r on week 10!
Do ur best not to scratch but I know we give in at
Times as it feels like millions on ants eating
Our skin.
Glad u got the cream! I bought so many
Types of lotion too:)

BiggyB: I was thinking the way I am using it, I should have had them make more. A quart tub would crack me up.

News: My rash is on my shins, ankles and chest as well. Must be common areas. AND I start week 10 tomorrow.

Still having some itching. Do I "slather" it on?

I have it for bad rash, cleared it up good. Used up tube in a couple days so nurse asked pharmacy if they had bigger tubes of it. I went in to pick up my refill and it was like a big quart tub of it. It was funny. Kinda embarassed picking it up. Now i just scoop my fingers in the tub and smear it on.

It helped me a lot. I went through one tube of it late in treatment, on my ankles and shins, and top of my chest. By the time it was gone, the rash had almost completely disppeared.

Picked up the anti-itch cream my doc prescribed. The compound is "Triamcinolone 0.1% crm in cetaphil. Apply to rash three times daily" I used it 2x yesterday and 1x so far today. Seems to be helping as the injection site reactions on my thighs do not look so angry. I have also been taking oatmeal baths.  Ahhh! A new love!! biggrin

I will let you guys know how the cream works.
