WOW! I am so excited thank you for explaining that to me, I have been so sick the past 2 weeks could not even get out of bed it made my arthritis worse and my copd, I lost 20 pounds from not eating all I can keep down it toast, my DR has been out of town so it has been pretty rough. But feeling better now and news like that just makes me feel even better. So if it is undetected why do we have to stay on treatment for 5 ore months?? And what can I do to make sure it doe not come back?? Cinnamon Girl you have been so helpful and I really like how you explain things.

I`m glad you`re feeling better now, you`ve been having a really rough time of it then.  You`ve lost a lot of weight too which isn`t surprising if you haven`t been able to eat properly.  Treatment seems to make all our usual aches and pains worse too, people often say that.

Well, you need to continue the full recommended length of treatment because there`s a chance that there`s still a small number of virus particles left which could start multiplying again if you stop too soon, and you could relapse.   As long as the virus is still undetected at 6 months after your treatment has finished, then you reach `SVR` and it`s safe to say that you`ve been cured.  Hard I know, but it will be worth it in the end!

All you need to do is keep going, make sure you take all your medicines when you`re supposed to, try to eat as well as you can and drink enough water and liquids to keep yourself well hydrated.  The medicines are doing their job, that`s the main thing!

Hope things start getting easier for you soon!  smile

ps - I`m happy to be able to help!

Hi Robin, well if you look at the HCV `IU/ml` results on the bottom line (this is the standard measurement)... on 14th Feb you had a viral load of 1,573,939.42 (1.57 million), which had gone down to 1,281,880 at the start of your treatment on 30th April, and your latest viral load on 28th May was < (less than) 615.

Looks like your lab is using a `bDNA PCR` test, which can only measure viral loads above 615 IU/ml.  That means that as your result says less than < 615 the test cannot detect the virus.

Yes, it`s good, it looks like you`re undected!

You`re doing well, keep going!  smile  ~ Jill

Edit..sorry I got your name wrong!
