When in doubt call the pharmacist at Gilead support.. they will answer any and all questions for you..

I was prescribed augmentin for bronchitis, just last week,  I called gilead and they said it was ok to take it.

After 20 weeks on Harvoni (4 more to go) my immune system is screaming stop!  I have not had bronchitis in years!  At this same time I developed gout :(  which I was placed on Indocin for 7 days (also ok'd by pharmacist at Gilead)  I am a nervous wreck and very anxious as to maintaining my SVR.. I do not get that drawn until 4/20..

trying to stay positive..

Thanks Tig,

I am always cautious about taking medication. Just needed some feedback on what is tolerable while on Harvoni, in case I am prescribed medicine.

Hi Stormy,

You need to ask your doctor to advise you on this. If you have a viral chest cold, then an antibiotic like Amoxicillin is useless, they are used only for bacterial infections and you need to know what type of bacteria is causing it. To take the wrong antibiotic or when it isn't needed, can cause a potential resistance to it and the worsening of your symptoms.

With that said, the Harvoni Monograph makes no mention of an adverse effect to Amoxicillin. Your doctor needs to determine your need, so seek his/her advice anytime you consider adding any medication. I hope you're feeling better soon!

Feeling like I have a chest cold. Just started Harvoni 4 days ago and wondering if that is just a sx. But my lungs feel like an infection.  which doctor do I go see?  My Gastro or GP.  Anyone taken amoxicillin or a zpak while on Harvon?
