Ha, I find it difficult at times to tell which is Riba Rage and which is just being an Ornery ol' Cuss ...

either way they can still kiss our ruddy bums for keepin' us in the dark like a bunch of 'shrooms.

On the other hand, I don't dare wish for July to hurry up and get here, life fly's by fast enough these days without wishin' ANY of it away ... smile

Hi Dave,

i only just saw this post and just wanted to let you know I'm thinking about your blood test in July - and a doctor kissing your ruddy bum with great reluctance. biggrin

And yes I might be able to detect a bit of riba singe there - smells like hair burning actually and I get a whiff of my own quite often. 

I'd say take care, but I think you've got this whole wait and see, dragon slay adventure, well and truly under control.

Wishing you the VERY, VERY Best of Luck with All the testing ... next time, insist that you get copies of all results, I do.

You too will be glad to see EOT, I know ... it's a game we all play, convince ourselves that we don't care so that the wait is not so arduous ... we all do it. Don't forget that when it DOES arrive, it's Ok to enjoy it and do a little happy dance. smile

Ah yes, the Ultimate Wait for the "Gold Standard, EOT+12, SVR" Test/ Results ... I think doctors enjoy making us wait for these things ... they sit at home and giggle to themselves ...  (Well they can kiss my ruddy bum ... I tell ya) evileye <---- (Slight bit of Riba still, can ya tell)?

Thanks guys, 

nice to hear you are a grandpa in waiting too Tig. I know I'm on a Hep C forum and not Pinterest but I feel a bit like SF does today. Just numb to it all. Sounds stupid but I get more pleasure out of hearing about other peoples EOTs and successful treatments than I do in thinking about my own. 

I had a blood test last week and went to see my specialist but she didn't have the results in front of her and while she said there was an improvement overall, I wanted to see for myself. This week I am booked for another ultra sound and this ones important as if the ascites is gone it may mean my liver has tripped back to compensated. But again, these momentous results are usually withheld so it's best not to care too much about them. I'm sure you know Dave, exactly how challenging all these various waits are, because you're in the most important one of all now.

As for the sex of the baby ... I think I'd like the mystery of it all ... but I can see how it makes for difficult shopping. Just get neutral colors I guess ... the baby sure isn't going to care ... LOL

That's so fun that you will be done with meds near the same time as the baby arrives ... Good Times!

I have to agree Syd, little girls are the best! I have one child, a daughter, and she has a 21 month old daughter. They are the lights of my life and we just found out that my daughter is with child again. My son in law wants a boy, but I'd be thrilled to hear another girl is on the way! Of course a healthy baby is always the most important. We can (not so) secretly keep our fingers crossed for more pink frills and lace!

Hi guys,

thanks Dave for putting my EOT up on that calendar. I saw it there as I was waddling aimlessly around the site and wondered - ended up putting it in the "gee isn't technology amazing"basket. I can see myself blaming riba for any signs of forgetfulness or general stupidity Ad infinitum. 

My daughter doesn't find out the sex of her babies - which severely thwarts my making and purchasing of tiny things. I'm a bit of a feminist I suppose but there are many good things about being a girl - hairdos, new dresses, nail polish, make up and PINK to name a few. the glass ceiling's definitely still there but let's not imagine that doing away with our finery will change that much. Particularly when you've got Miley Cyrus on her wrecking ball as a preteen  role model. 

She is my only daughter - I have three sons and I love each of them dearly. I just needed to play pink a bit more. So say some of those prayers for me that this baby and its mother will be safe and well and that I can get out the pink piping and lace.

had to get my phone out and count the weeks to find out my end of treatment day is May 27th. My daughter will have had her third baby by then so it's a big month. Just hoping I can hobble around enough to be of some use to them.

Man it is great seeing you rebuilding your life! You fought a very good fight and your experience and willingness to share it will in fact help others.

Now showing the "Other Side of Treatment" is a reminder to all that treatment is a necessary step to greatness!

By the way I love that shot of the bird. I did one kind of like it in Brazil once attached below. It left me with a creepy kind of feeling and reminder that in the "jungle" there is stuff watching you. LOL

Thanks for sharing your photos, Dave, you certainly live in a very beautiful part of the world.  It must feel great to be able to get out and appreciate it all again!

I agree with what you said about riba rage, I felt that it taught me a few lessons when I was on tx, mainly how to stand my ground when I needed to and not back down.  That has stayed with me on the whole, but the rage bit is definitely well under control these days. (??!)

You`re doing all the right things to help get yourself back on track, you`re definitely getting there!

Beautiful pics thanks for sharing them Dave. So glad you are feeling better. And yeah, our partners, kids, whoever had to endure us while on treatment deserves a medal. 

I didn't do Riba this go round and still get like that! I talk to God and it goes away.

Yes, I still get these moments ------> angered.gif

but I can tell it will all change and smooth out as time goes by ... at the end of taking the Riba I was seriously hoping I wasn't stuck like that ... Thank goodness for Sovaldi and Riba and Dac but I can be glad we don't have to take them forever ... whew!

I do think the Riba rage has taught me how to (at least sometimes) have more control on things that upset me. Perhaps I can use that means of control to help deal with the worst of this, not so perfect, world in the future.

Your EOT is getting closer all the time too ... drumroll (sorry but I don't remember your EOT date, if you tell me I will put it on the Calendar if that's Ok).

Glad you liked the pics, I have lots like those (hopefully most are better quality). I need to get them sorted and post them on Flickr.com so I can share albums etc. We are so lucky to live where there is so much natural beauty, flora and fauna.

Hi dave,

Good to know you're getting your energy back. And yes maybe it is the fog that dies down quite quickly. I know where you're coming from with anything traffic related though. I'm seven weeks out from riba and still spend most of my time cussing at other drivers. Okay, it's always been part of my driving but not a continuous monologue! 

Beautiful pictures. As Tig says Washington State looks very beautiful. It's good to want to take photos or do anything at all again, isn't it?

I'm still downing the water.

Jo did wonderfully helping me along through Tx ... she does deserve a medal!

She told me today "You've still got some of that Riba Rage going" when I cussed out a truck that drove by the house and tooted his horn ... LOL

I WILL be glad when THAT subsides ... no (Get the feeling that may take a while).

Forcing myself to make smoothies so I get some fresh fruits and veggies down every day. Should help some, I think.

If nothing else it won't hurt me any and hopefully keep me from snacking on other stuff.

Nice pictures Dave! Washington State is definitely part of God's Country... Beautiful! That looks like the perfect place to burn off some of that left over Riba. Take a chair and a fishing pole, without a hook. Don't want to be bothered catching a fish with a view like that!

Yes, unfortunately the rage is still present, other things too, no doubt, but I do feel fortunate that at least the fog is leaving, I'm getting out some where during the later parts of Tx, I was not (at least not without some difficulty).

Got out today to take a few pics at the river.

Hey Dave,

You sound so much better and the recovery is progressing pretty fast. Nothing wrong with that my friend! Just take it easy and let things happen on a slow but steady plan. I got antsy and fell back into a bit of a slump. You are fortunate that your Hgb didn't tank on you. That alone will help you achieve recovery more comfortably. Just don't overexert yourself. It takes up to 6 months to clear the Riba, not kidding! You should feel better sooner but things like mood, itching and sun sensitivity can linger and recur. Your mileage may vary!

It's nice to have you back on track Bro! SVRville next station! Tell Jo hello and let her know something for me. Tell her she did a wonderful job of supporting you during treatment and is to be commended.  Woot!

One more thing........Hydration should continue!

Getting back to some sense of normality with life.

I would say the fog has dissipated ~98% from when on Tx.

I find myself not dreading having to do an errand or chore now.

Find myself at least thinking about resuming some major home projects and getting out to do some recreational activities.

Seem to get a little shortness of breath still but that's not nearly as bad as right at EOT.

Still pacing myself a bit so I don't over do things, since I've been fairly inactive for a while I tend to get a little sore from more activity but that's not necessarily bad.

Woke up with a back ache (yesterday's working on the vehicles) but took a couple Ibuprofen and feel like I should get out and walk around a little to limber up.

 

Just wanted to post how rapidly recovery seems to be going after Tx. Bear in mind that I'm 63 so I'm going to get some aches and pains no matter what ... LOL

I hope to get quite active again, however, ya only live once and I don't want to miss out on enjoying life ... smile
