Gidday rocket,

Everything you said about beating the virus yourself is very true, some people are lucky.  In regards to infecting others, there has been some 'grey' research that recently stated that people in your position as well as any of us once we obtain and maintain SVR (clear virus) can equally still possibly infect a sexual partner.  I am a trained scientist skilled in these matters and find the last statement based on the methods used, grossly overstated, very generalised and difficult to reproduce in the lab.

If you wish to aleviate your partner's concerns, the best way to do that would be to have a high quality PCR blood test done and this will clearly indicate your status as one able to infect someone.  Sorry, no easy answers for this oneno.gif

Cheers,

Brendan.

Hi,
I am new here and I need answers..please help if you can.

I was a drug addict for five years and used intreveniously for that period of time. I am now clean and I was told recently that at some point I had contracted HEP C but that my antibodies fought this virus off and that I would not get sick. Q: Can I now infect other people that I come into contact sexually or otherwise?? My partner is concerned and I would love to be able to give him a straight answer. Please help. Thank you!
