Given all the health issues that you've described, you simply may not be a suitable candidate who can tolerate HCV treatment. It that's what your care providers have determined, then until you can mitigate all of those other health problems, you're going to have to live with it.

Hi Sharlot,  Welcome to the forum from me as well.  Sorry to hear you're having trouble getting the care you need.  The only idea that I can add to the advice already given is that maybe you can get access to low cost legal aid services in your area.  A young pushy lawyer might be just the thing to get them moving in the direction you want them to.  I realize that sounds like strong advice, but sometimes, in America, it's the only thing that works.  Good luck, tysmile

Hi Sharlot and welcome to the forum from me too.  I am so sorry you`re having such a difficult time, it really is dreadful.  I can`t add anything else useful to what others have already said, but you do need to get the right care somehow.  Good luck and stay in touch - this is a fantastic forum and you will find a lot of support and info here.

Love from Jill xx

Gidday Sharlot,

I am upset to hear that you are being refused basic medical care, and wonder whether there is any possibility that you could perhaps seek being seen by the staff at the hopefully a not too far away general hospital's liver clinic.  If distance is a problem at least going once a month or something to someone who gives you the right attention and the appropriate care. would be far better for you than seeing the poor excuse for a human being let alone member of the medical profession, you saw on this last occasion.

Is it possible for you to travel to see a decent doctor ?  I know you are in the US and understand liver services are really strained in some areas, do you have HepC clinics or services of any kind nearby?

I know your bipolar condition limits your level of treatment but you've got to get to see a liver specialist who is willing to take a risk, as perhaps you'll have to as well.  New drugs are coming on the market and available in research, perhaps there is an opening for you that hasn't been there before.

Please stay in touch with us and perhaps we can start to work on your side effects to hepC that are causing all these other problems.

Cheers,

Brendan.

Hiya Sharlot,

It is good to hear from you but i am sorrry you are having the run around.  It really doesn't help you.

It doesn't sound like you have the opportunity to change your med team either.  I would suggest to just keep on at them and hopefully you will come across someone more helpful soon!!

Take care and all the best.

Hugs

im 7 yrs informed of my hepc it seems to not matter to the drs. they discount my viral load 50million , im sure with the imune system this low. i should be taken seriously, in dec 21 2010 i was addmitted in the hospital with strep pnuemoina . i spent over a year asking for a strep test to 4 different drs. this hospital stay was due to throat swollen and not able to breath . but no ! even my infectious disease dr. said well they will take care of me ok. well when i was released i caught stomach problems. then two days after i finished amoxicilen.well in ER i was given cipro and flagl==for something else .im in a small town so the care i need isnt here. does anyone out there get the runaround?doh
