Hi Iris, good luck with those tests next month, they sound grim but it will really be worthwhile to get some info about your state of health.

The advantage of the new tx combos is that they can shorten the duration of tx, by being more effective at killing off  the virus for people with genotype 1 which you have.

As far as your home situation is concerned, well it depends on what you mean I suppose.  As you know, tx can make you very tired and also very irritable with people, which is doable, but which can cause complications with family and friends.  Not sure if you mean you live on your own or have a bad situation at home.

Sorry about the belly pain you`re getting.  hmm

All the best to you anyway, love from Jill xxx

Hi Iris,

As James has said, there isn't a side-free effect treatment for Hep C available at the present time and although Pharma Co's are working on this, I doubt it will be happening anytime soon.

With regards to no section for people not on tx or post tx, it isn't a problem adding a section. As Brendan says, you are most welcome to post on any thread smile

Love Steff xx

Iris you still have to take Interferon and RIBA with Telaprevir (Incevik) or Boceprevir (Victrealis). Now it's a 3 drugs instead of two.

Now that this new treatment is avaliable, I have been considering asking my family doc. to send me to a GI. I've kinda been holding out hope, that someday they would develope a treatment that didn't make you feel horrible, and crazy, and it looks like that day may have arrived...(in May) with Teleprivar. I have been having so much pain in my belly though, I'm just hoping it's not too late. I guess really my MAIN concern is that I do NOT have a good support system at home. How important is this to the succes of treatment.???

I have lab work, Dr.s appt, stress test, abdiomnial and vaginal (yuck) ultra sounds all in August, should be a fun month disbelief Pray they find all is well.

Much love, Iris

Gidday Iris,

I reckon you'd be pretty right adding anything you wanted to write in that regard in General discussion as James points out.  Besides, apart from unwelcome comments from ingenuine souls, no-one would stop you from adding comments to any discussion on this Forum.  We're all fairly tolerant individuals, and have nothing but plenty of time for someone trying to share anything that will help knowledge and general discussion about HepC grow.

I hope you are doing OK.

Cheers,

Brendan.

Hi Iris,

There are a few areas in the Forum that are not 'treatment specific', but yes it would be a good idea for us to have a section specifically for people who are not on treatment.  We will get back to you on this. smile

Hugs

Hi all, I was wondering where to post, since i'm not on treatment. Would like to exchange the aches and pains of this virus as well as information about remedies and other alternative health care while in limbo land.  Any ideas?    Thanks, Iris
