I reported a side effect to my Drs office today . what a mistake

Instead of just making a note and asking how I was doing, they said go to the ER, they wont see me until 10 days after my4 week blood which I done earlier today before I called my Drs office.

So off to the ER, who is having the busiest day theyve had in years. I got in at noon and out at midnight. I told them I was reporting a side effect of victrelis, and thats why Im there, shortness of breath. They do a EKG, they do a chest xray, they dont order blood work until 7pm! Im tired, I missed taking my victrellis TWICE, my reba and my lasix and aldacton,so now my schdule is so messed up. Im not reporting anything unless and ambulence has to physically take me out of here ever again.

 Hey Sue,

Sorry I guess it was better to be safe than sorry?  Idk but I usually take some of my drugs with me when I venture out of the house which is like once a week.... I have missed a dose of meds long story told doc she said  DON'T double up just make it up at the end, not sure what that means... I take the Incevick.. You do have to monitor yourself these drugs are very powerful and have alot of side of effects, glad everything is ok... peace and love MJ

Kiwi, thanks for the hope! It helps hearing from a 48 weeker. I work
One day a week on my feet and have house chores too.
I think the one day a week is causing me stress.
I will see how I do next few weeks working. Do you feel better these days when
U wake up? I feel exhausted after
Sleeping 9-10 hours!!! U r right I am
Over half way there and happy about that!
I made myself go to bank and pick up items
For Thanksgiving so it was good to see
The beautiful Fall foliage. Now where's
The bed! With having cirrhosis and being 53 who always had energy
Of a 20 year old, I have to accept daily
I get the blessing of resting. Just been doing a lot lately,
Time to slow down and enjoy my relax time.
Yes, I am addicted to reading. It's my passion!
Headed to relax....Cheers Matey! (My first time ever
To use that expression... It's usually... bye y'all, see you later)!
JoAnne
Weather is beautiful! I am blest

hey mate.

i think it hits a level and stays there. specially after 28 weeks, you will be right in the thick of it. personally i think we adapt, it takes a while, then we stop fighting and just go with it. it might seem like a long time to go, but you are past half way now. thats how i marked my milestones, first off a quarter way thru at 12 weeks, then a third. then half. then omg im two thirds thru, and so on.

you are past half way mate. hang in there. are ya into reading, ?  i watched a load of tv and did a ton of sleeping, and when i had about 3 months to go i got made redundant, which in the end was a blessing in disguise, it allowed me to just heal and rest.

i am gettin better now. my brain and mood is great, the body is taking a little while to catch up. hair still falling out. its about 5 weeks post treatment.

hope ya feelin better today.

I can't seem to get off the couch!
I guess some days will be this way.
Nurse said after 9 weeks into triple tx
It's common as medicine surpresses production of red blood cells.
I am bored but my husband tells me I am healing.

Oh my was it a full moon? Realistically, its the first time Ive gone to an ER where everyone really seemed to be there, except well, me.

The tests all came back negative for any known to them cause of shortness of breath. HBG was pretty ok, 2 other components a little low but he said not attributable to my problem, and no mention of anemia.

Thank you.

eegads, I would never venture near an ER around the full moon...unless, you are in actual danger, but then, who's to say? Your Dr. sounds like a bit of an alarmist, so how are you to knowdisbelief?

I hope you will be getting the rest you need today, and that the missed doses will be ok.

By the way, did the ER people say? Wishing you the best, Iris

Suzanneaz,

The part that worries me most about your story is the missed Victrellis doses. That is a serious no-no with Incivek. I hope not so much of one with Victrellis. Anyway, look into that right away, and I am so sorry to hear you took such a beating.

Sorry you had to go through all that Suzanneaz, it must have been exhausting and very stressful for you. How is your breathing today?

About the missed doses, I didn`t do either of the triples but my understanding is that all doseage of prescribed medicines is based on 80% compliance, so as long as you carry on with your normal drug schedule you should be fine.  Best to check with your medical team anyway though, if you haven`t already done so.

Shortness of breath, as you probably already know, is caused by a drop in your hgb levels, which is a fairly common sx when on tx.  Sounds like your doctor was being a bit overcautious but wanted to play it safe.

Take care, Jill xx
