I have not had a liver transplant, but on Wednesday my hepatologist at OHSU told me his first patient to finish Harvoni and pass the EOT 12 mark was a transplant patient who seemed to tolerate treatment very well.

I was his second patient to attain SVR.

Hi Paul,

Welcome to the forum! I'm glad you found us and I hope we can help you find the information and support you're looking for.

Im going to include a link to an article that explains the success of Harvoni in dealing with the infected post transplant patient. The rates of success are good. If i can help you with anything at all, just ask. We have a lot of knowledgeable people here more than willing to help.

When you have time, tell us a little about yourself. Do you know what your most current blood tests indicated? Anything helps us provide better informed opinions. You should try our search function at the top of each page. Use a word or two pertaining to your question, like "transplant" and you'll find more information.

welcome Manosdelumbre. My father in law had a transplant in Jan. 2014 and next Monday he'll finish 12 weeks of Harvoni and Riba. His hepatologist and transplant Dr. felt this would be the best coarse of treatment for him. He has virtually side effects, other than dry mouth and has been undetectable since week 2.

Hi EOG, we do have a transplant thread, but no-one has posted on it for quite a while -

http://hepcfriends.activeboard.com/t33277189/transplant-thread/

I read your story when you first joined the forum, you and your husband have been through an incredible journey to get to this point.

I was glad to read (on another thread) that things are getting better for him, good to hear that and all the very best of luck to him with his tx.  You`re doing a fantastic job being here (and there) for him! smile

All the best, Jill xx

Hey EOG - I have not come across anyone in the post-transplant stage here.  But I'm sure many of us would LOVE to learn more about your experience before, during and after your liver transplant.  I certainly would!  While we all hope to avoid such an outcome, not all of us will so the more we know the better off we are.  Thanks!
