A message of encouragement sent from Deirdre to Steve-o -

"Just had this FB message from Deidre, she asked me to pass it on, I have. It May help someone."

"I almost feel guilty saying this to you, because of the way your treatment turned out. But, I know you are bigger than that. So I was hoping you would do me a favor, since I can't. There were many people on that Hep Forum, that I was advising. All of which have been told that if they do Incivek and they are not clear at 4 weeks, they have to do treatment for a year. This is really discouraging! However I was one of the few who was not clear at 4 weeks ( the first time I did treatment in 2002 I was) but I was clear at 6 weeks. I did 100% compliance..not the statistical 80%. However I had to quit at 6.5 months, instead of the year I was suppose to do. The other day I did my 8 month test. I'm still clear! Please let the people on the forum know this. It may encourage them, and everyone on treatment needs encouragement. Those who were not clear at 4 weeks and want to give up, because a year sound imposible, it may help. I had one doctor from a university who had done some of the trials say " You must have at least 6 months clear, to stand a chance. if you weren't clear till 6 weeks, than do 6 months + 6 weeks. I want people to kow I turned out ok, and maybe give themthe encouragement to push to at least 6 months. Once they have it may be easier for them to go on. If they can't like me..it doesn't mean they will fail. Please tell them for me. You can copy and paste if you want. Thank you Steve, and I hope you are doing okay."

Thanks for sharing this with us, Steve, please thank Deirdre and say a big "Congratulations!!" from all of us here.

Cheers Steve, take care, Jillxx
