Hi Robin, you really need to get some clarification about what this means and I strongly recommend that you speak to your doctor and get a lot more information from her.  Hepatic coma is a very serious condition and I`m wondering whether she meant `without coma` rather than `with`.

Let us know what you find out, Jill xx smile

Robin, your story is rather strange. You first spoke about blood tests in May, then August, but you claim you still don't know your genotype or VL. Your 'new' doctors notes also are strange- nobody would mention hepatic coma, which is the last symptom of decompensated cirrhosis. NOS is sometimes used as ' no obvious symptoms' but the acute NOS is weird. I'm having trouble following your story.

It may mean that you do not have any specific disorder or acute symptoms. NOS = not otherwise specified. But to be sure I would rather ask a specialist to confirm .... Good luck!

Perhaps not new for you, yet found this on wiki.answers:

Chronic Hepatitis C without mention Hepatic Coma typically means that you have hepatitis c but are not showing symptoms of Liver encephalopathy also called hepatic coma which is the deterioration of brain function due to toxic substances building up in the blood, which are normally removed by the liver.
