Hi mkk777, and also hi to you John, welcome from me too.

As Malcolm said, it does vary from person to person, and some people are lucky enough to go through tx with minimal side effects.  Quite often though it`s the tiredness that builds up over time, mainly because a lot of us develop anaemia, which is a common sx of the ribavirin.  I did the 2x tx for gen 3a in 2010/11 and that`s what I found, but of course we`re all different and I was a few years older than you!  It`s best just to take it day by day.

Good luck to both of you!  smile  ~ Jill

Hi mk777,

Welcome to the forum. Side effects (Sx) vary from person to person and may take some weeks to develop. The lack of Sx at this early stage does not mean anything regarding your Rx. As you're young and only on SOC, hopefully you'll have an easy ride. Cheers.

Hi MK I'm new to the board also. HVC 1a And this is my second go around the first time I did the treatment Incivek was not availble. I repsonded, but the bugs came back. I noticed with the 2x that after awhile things got more tolerable. I don't know for sure about the response to 3x But, I can tell you that yesterday I was on top of the world. Today not so much, but I was greatful for a reprieve. To answer your ? I think it depends on your makeup. Hang in there, and welcome to the board.

John

p.s. we share the same start date.

I am new to this forum.  I began my ribavarin/Pegasus injections on January 14, 2013.  I am genotype 2b, 48 years old in good health.  I am just wondering if not experiencing the side effects which they warn us about means that the medication is not working.  So far, I have only a slight headache.  Does anyone know if the side effects change the longer you are on the medication?
