I still haven't received my test results in the mail but will post when I get them.  Just took my 6th shot tonight and now my face is tingling. (Hasn't happened before) I ran a search to see if I could find anyone else discussing this sx but didn't find anything.  Have any of you heard of this?

Hi KLG

Welcome to the forum. I have experienced some confusion with my 4 week viral load results. Will hopefully get some clarity when I meet my nurse this Friday. I have had to learn (and still am), not to be afraid to ask questions, I write them down now before appointments. There is a wealth of knowledge on the forum. keep on checking it out. Hopefully you'll get some clarity when your nurse mails you the 4 week results in full. Great results for you so far, all the bestsmile

Hi and welcome, KLG, glad to have you onboard with us.   Well done for starting another round of tx (treatment), let`s hope your sx (side effects) will be a lot easier to cope with this time around.

Your 4 wk result does look rather unusual, and as Malcolm said, we hear from many of our members who`ve been given confusing numbers without an adequate explanation.   It will be interesting to hear more about that when you`ve heard back from your nurse.

Anyway, the drugs are certainly doing their job and your viral load has come right down, that`s encouraging news!

Best of luck to you, keep in touch!  ~ Jill

She is mailing it to me so I will post an update then. She said that my test result was "negative" but then also said that my viral load was 7 (single digit). I didn't think to ask her how i can be negative with still having a viral load of 7. I looked it up online and I did see references to that low of a viral load being considered "negative"

Hi KLG,

More confusion about 4 week Viral Loads! You posted your VL was 7 but Detected. Unless your Lab is using a Quest TMA VL test with a LLD of 5 (Heptimax), this result of 7 is hard to understand. Do you have a copy of the VL report or can you get it? We are finding errors in how VL results are conveyed to patients, particularly by Nurses who do not understand it. It would be very helpful if you could post the exact wording of the report, together with details of the test that is being used. Cheers.

I can't see my bio in my post. Am I supposed to do something to make it show up?

I have been reading the board since I started treatment 4 weeks ago and wanted to thank you for all posts!! It eases my mind to know that what I am experiencing this go- round is normal -- fatigue,  shortness of breath, rash and just feeling crappy... What I didn't include in my bio was my 2nd treatment attempt, also RIBA/int which I stopped fairly quickly because it made me so deathly ill!! This time I didn't have that experience but I do feel worse as time passes! Took off work for the first two months of treatment but am not sure how I will handle going back to work, ugh.

Nurse tells me I am negative at 4 weeks ( which must be different than und because I still have a detectable viral load). It's just hard to get too excited because the same thing happened in 96 with int alone.

So that's my story and I look forward to learning more in this forum.
