Well, I ended up drinking one weekend and my liver enzymes shot back up to 320. I just researched my blood work from just two years ago back when I was vegan and 9 years sober and my enzymes were around 30.

Welcome back veganism and absolutely no alcohol. I am going to get my blood done in six more weeks to see how I look.

I am so stupid. You cant cheat these things.

Well I had my liver biopsy which came out a little worse than I expected but I can deal with that.
They said my liver enzymes were too high to do the study unless we can get them down. I started drinking "i know, i know" beer on the weekends and stopped being vegan about five months ago and my enzymes really shot up. I have since corrected my behavior for about six weeks and they have dropped from 357 to 270. I have one more month to get them below 250 and I am in the study.

I started taking Dandelion root today because my wife swears by it. I dont think I will do the Milk Thistle thing since I am already on track to hit 250 in the next two weeks.

I will let everyone know when I start the study. This is supposed to be the newest stuff "phase 1" out there so I am really excited.

I had my biopsy today.
I asked the doctor if I would be on the Ledipasvir (gs-5885)/sofosbuvir study and he said that it was at the end of phase three and pretty much done. The study I will be in will be the next generation which they believe will have greater results.

I will post the details when I start. He told me what it was but it was right before the biopsy and I had already received the "party" shot.

That sounds great!
I didnt realize the other 3 had Interferon when you first posted. That makes me feel better.
Lawitz said that going anemic on Riba is usually caused by the interaction with it and Interferon and rarely happens with Riba and the oral.

I really hope this gets it for you.

Hi. I am on the Gilead 12 week arm with Ledipasvir (gs-5885)/sofosbuvir and riba. I went UND for the first time ever at week 4. I did have an overnight stay at the clinic for repeated blood draws for the pharma company. No real side effects to speak of...maybe need 1 more hour of sleep than normal. My body handles the riba very well. The all oral is a cakewalk compared to the other 3 Tx attempts with interferon (the last including vict). You are at the best place you could be with dr. Lawitz :)

I am currently on an all oral study at Alamo Medical Research. My 4th attempt. I finish up my 12 week trial/study tomorrow. Great people. I have been with them through 3 prior attempts over the last 3 yrs.

I am going in for my liver biopsy soon and if everything works out, I get to start a new trial in April.

I am a non-responder for the older Peg/Riba treatment and I have 1a. The doctor at the clinical trial center said that this new treatment has a 90+ percent cure rate. It is an oral treatment that takes 3 months with little to no side-effects. He said that most the patients have the same side-effects as they would on anti-biotics.

In addition, he said that another oral drug that they did trials on previously will hopefully be available in late 2013 to early 2014.

What made me feel really hopeful is that he said that every new trial has better and better results.

I will post results as soon as I start the study.

Wow.

What is the name of the drug you are using now? Which geno are you? Did the doctors give you the same percentage rates for the new study that they gave me?

How are the side-effects? I heard that some people did get fatigue but only for a day or two and then they were fine.

How soon before you go undetectable?

I swear I am only going to edit/add one more time.

When I did the 48 week Peg/riba treatment, I had to go in once a week for the first month for bloodwork and then do two 8 hour long blood work days where I just sat in a bed and they did blood work every hour or two. What is it like on the oral stuides?
