Thanks Jill, I passed the screening and will start on June 4th. I won't know which trial though till June 4th.

With/without riba 8 or 12 weeks.

I wish I had book-marked the page I had read. It stated that Gilead intend to use a new DDa with Sofosbuvir for type 3 that they're already developing. Now they are seperating Genotype 3 from 2 as our genotype is the least reactive with the new wave of meds. I think they have ready ascertained that Ledipasvir has minimal effect on type 3 and 2 but has an excellent result on type 1. I haven't followed how good Abbie meds are on our genotype but would be interested to know. :D

I am looking forward in other DAAs to replace/add to Sofosbuvir for GT3 trials, those results were really dissapointing for GT3 folks...but then again sofosbuvir seems SUPERB for GT2 and great for GT1

wondering about will there be any trials from Gilead with Sofosbuvir/Ledipasvir+-Riba (like one Karen is on, tho it's GT1 only) for GT3 naive/experienced patients?

Hi Leroy,

I double checked for you and there is a trial recruting for genotype 3 in the states, it does involve the dreaded interferon for 12 weeks though, combined with Riba and Sofosbuvir. But that is if you have had treatment before using interferon?

The current trials are for genotype 1. I did read the other day that Gilead will be commencing a trial in the future with Sofosbuvir and a new NUKE aimed specifically at genotype 3 as it is less responsive to new DDAs than the other genotypes. This new drug is currently un-named and phase 1 has not begun yet. Hopefully this will happen soon, and if it does, I would like to try it too. :D

Is this trial for geno type 1b only. I have geno type 3 and have had no luck in getting into any drug trials

Geno 1b, IL28B CT,  x3 prior relapser,  ex-cirrhotic, 75 yo, did 48 weeks with Victrelis/Peg./Riba.  VL 1.28m at start, UNDET. at 8 ,12 ,16 ,24 ,30  and 48 weeks.  EOT 15 Feb 2013 , UNDET. at EOT + 28 weeks. SVR!  Still Undet. at EOT +5 years

And I 3rd that (can you 3rd something?)! 

I'm on the Gilead 7977, (Ribavirin and Sofosbuvir) about 8 weeks (just extended from 24 to 48 weeks) and after 3 days the virus was undetectable and remains that way.

No noticable side effects, unlike triple therapy Incivick.  Also my other liver counts are normal (AST, ALT) for the first time in 20 years or more.

Hi Nancy, good luck with your screening appointment, it looks like a good trial to be on. 

If you want something to appear in your signature line, go to your `User Details` and click on `Signature` in your `Profile` box.  Type what you want to include and then click on `Save Changes`.  It will show up at the bottom of all your posts after that.

Let us know how you get on!  smile

My genotype is 1b and F1, I don't know how to include it in my profile. The trial is for 8-12 weeks some with rib/some without.

I don't know yet. Are you on the same trial? So, you jus take one pill a day. That is cool.

So, I am going to go for screening test, if everything works out I will be put on the single dose of Gilead's new combination pill.

Is anybody else on this trial??

Pretty exciting news!  What is your genotype?  What is the length of the trial?

I also heard that Gilead is recruiting for a second phase III (7977/5885-no Riba) to test dosing 8wk or 12 wk.  Currently, in the 12wk or 24 wk trial.  Putting updates on this post..."A journey through the twists and turns of Sofosbuvir/GS-5885 Fixed-Dose Combination ± Ribavirin"
