Hiya,

Wow, seems you have been through the mill, I can only admire your persistance! I really hope this is the last time you ever have to do this, but it is evident your determination and persistence and it will pay off. Good luck!

Oh wow sicklebill - you have certainly been through the 'treatment wringer'.  I really hope that your current attempt is successful.  All the very best and keep us posted.  Caroline

Hi there Sicklebill, welcome, I`m glad you found us.   It`s often difficult for our friends and family to understand what it`s like being on treatment for Hep C, and the emotional side effects can be just as hard to deal with as the physical ones.  Stay around and you`ll find loads of support and good info here.

You must be a real fighter to have made so many attempts at treatment, and it`s great to hear your persistence is paying off at last, well done!  You`re almost through the hardest part and things should start getting easier once you`re done with incivek.

Keep us posted!  ~ Jill

ps - Lovely photo!

Welcome and congrats on being this close to completing the Incivek. It's really quite an accomplishment. I just finished 48 weeks of triple tx with incivek. And after the first 12 weeks it was, comparatively speaking, a cakewalk. If you're only doing 24 weeks, you're almost halfway done so it's downhill from here. A lot of the sides will lessen if not disappear all together. Plus you'll have the added joy of being into the final countdown. Quite a few of the sides may unfortunately stay with you, even weeks after EOT. But a positive attitude can do wonders. If you have any specific problems or questions, there is a wealth of good caring people on the forum who will do everything they can to help you.

I'm not much of a joiner, but no one I talk to understands what this feels like.  My wife tries, but she can't.  I started back in like 95 on just straight interferon for 18 months.  Then interferon and and ribovirin.  I only lasted on the second on a month.  The depression almost killed me.  I refuse to take anti-depressants because I'm a recovering addict.  Third and 4th time I took anti-deperssants cleared and it came back.    tyhe 5th time they put me back on a different version of interferon that just killed me.  I lost 40 lbs in a month, and quit.  Now on my sixth time hopefully I'll get it right.  All together when this is done I will have done just over 4 years of interferon and two and a half of ribovirin.   I know that it can be hard.  Incivek with the "fire-rhea" is a new twist, but so is clearing the virus after 30 days.  I only have one week of incivek left and 3 months of the other rat poison.
