You are a great wealth of knowledge - the problem with my doctors is they said I do not have cihrosis when the afp is 21 and my platelets are low... they say there is not signs yet based on the last ultrasound.  I think they are being naive.

Hi John,

You're obviously not sensitive to interferon. As you failed the Incivek triple, you're a bit restricted as you cannot take a drug combo that includes an antiprotease. That leaves you with Sofosbuvir ( Gilead) and a NS-5A blocker.  Gilead's Ledipasvir is currently undergoing Phase 3 trials with Sofosbuvir . Sofosbuvir will probably be approved later this year or in early 2014 but Ledipasvir won't be approved until late 2014 or early 2015. The other possibility is BMS's Daclatasvir, which may be approved before Ledipasvir.

So, you will need a NS5B/NS5A combo, and this won't be around before late 2014. You're obviously cirrhotic from the AFP concerns, but can afford to wait 18-20 months. Cheers.

I have failed all medications 3 times in my life.   When are the new medicines coming out?  Telaprivar was a failure to me.
