Thank you for the responses! I really appreciate knowing that there are people here who are going through the same thing as me that I can talk to. And I love that term riba rage....cracks me up because that explains it so well! I think my next step is avoiding negative things on TV and trying to get back into yoga. Hopefully that helps! Again, thank you for the kind words :)

The Riba can cause your thoughts to gravitate toward negative things. Cinnamon girl had great ideas. Try and avoid depressing music or media.

The drug seems to cause some chemical change. You may find yourself thinking about past situations that you have already let go. Or you just can't seem to find your joy. I remember looking at my granddaughters and not being really "there" for them.

Rambling here, but try and go through the motions. It is hard to fake when you don't feel good. Come here where you do NOT have to fake it. This group has been through it and will cheer you on!

xo Karen:)

Hi there Mommy, welcome from me too!  We all understand what you`re going through, don`t worry you`re not alone!  Irritability is a very common side effect, and we call it `Riba Rage`.  We all find different ways to cope with it but giving yourself some time out to relax is very important, and avoid stressful situations as much as you can.  Treatment is a time to be kind to yourself, watch some favourite films and TV, listen to some uplifting music, meditate, practise yoga or relaxation techniques...anything that will calm you down and make you feel good.

Stay in touch, you`ll meet a great crowd of lovely friendly and helpful people here to guide you along your way.

Best of luck!  smile

Hi and welcome Mommy,

Don't worry, many of us get irritable and cranky from the Ribavirin. It's important to realise that it's the drug, not you. Try to avoid confrontation, and walk away when you get irritated. Being Geno 3 you have an excellent chance of clearing the virus, so good luck.       We are here with a sympathetic ear if you want to vent. Cheers.

So I am a busy mom and student AND on week 7 of Pegintron and Ribosphere (genotype 3)

....the reason I found this site tonight is because I have been very irritable lately.... I have friends and family to talk to, but I'm that irritable that I don't even want to strike up any conversations with anyone, its too tiring. Typing is easier sometimes, I guess. This treatment is pretty lame so far....I'm starting to go a little crazy (and now itchy)......Anyone have any good advice on how to chill out?? Or anything to say that could cheer me up?? lol :)
