I should add that I am not employed by any drug company.

Hi Steven, thanks for the information and for your interest.  I must point out though that this forum is intended to be used by people who have Hep C, or by personal supporters and partners of those who are affected by Hep C.  As you don`t fall into either of those categories we would appreciate it if you would refrain from posting any more links.  Thanks.

My interest is in the use of RNAi technology, not just for HCV. Tacere should be the first to use this approach for HCV in the clinic, excepting that Sarepta terminated their program. Regulus are expecting to be in the clinic in early 2014 and Arrowhead are about to start trials for HBV.

I have no interest in the application of small molecule treatments, however, I am happy to see any treatment being successful in curing or alleviating the suffering of mankind.

Hi Steven,

From your recent post and from previous posts, I suspect you have a financial interest in Tacere/Benitec and their proposed drug TT-034. If so, please declare it. This Forum is for HepC patients, and while we appreciate informative input, we would like to know of any associations with Drug Companies. You obviously don't have HepC, so please explain why you continue to give references for only one of the many drugs available. Thanks.

Some trials are blinded and some are not, but they listed as such.

If they are not blinded it will be called an open label trial.

I am not aware of any rules on having to live in the same town but you have to have the means to attend your many appointments, so being within driving distance is important.

We have members that have driven close to 6 hours to there appointments. Some have lived out of a hotel for the first portion of their treatment and then traveled by air.

I would suggest being within a hours travel but that's not always possible .

Sorry you relapsed Matt.  On a general note, do most of the trials give a placebo to some, and the drug to others?  Also, must one live in the area where the trail is being conducted?  The reason I ask is  that we no longer have a home, but are free to travel in the U.S.

thanks and never give up!

Hey Marcy

Good to see you are interested in a trial, I was in the Abbvie Turqouise II learned a ton of information. Best advice is do all the Reasearch you can on the pros and cons of the success and failures of the trials.

(hey Tig56 great links, well done)

I am overwhelmed with all the info about participating in a clinical trial.  I am genotype 1a and am so tired of all the symptoms.  i'd love to get into a trial soon with the new drugs without interferon.  Anyone know of one upcoming in the U.S?

Thanks in advance!

Marcy
