Thanks Matt. My appointment is Oct. 28th so maybe I will be able to get a better picture then. Waiting seems feasible if it is only for a few months.

Hey Angie

The FDA will be doing a advisery review on Octber 25 to determind if it deserves approval. If it does it will then be available shortly after approval.

It will likely be before the end of the year. Depending on your Geno type it might be worth the wait.

Matt

Hello all. I have been reading some of the posts about sofosbuvir getting ready to be approved.  I see that some say it will be ready as soon as December. Anyone know this for a fact? Once approved, will it be available for immediate use to the general public? I ask because I am STILL waiting to start tx. My doctor has been covering for a few other doctors and I won't see him again until the end of October. I thought I was right at the cusp of beginning tx months ago..but here I am..waiting. I'm assuming it may be insurance related. I heard that can cause a big delay. I am trying to decide on if I should wait a couple more months for the sofosbuvir.  If it really will be out by the end of the year, I would heavily consider waiting.  If it is still up in the air & more than a few months out..then I wont wait. I'm already pretty impatient to start this thing. The sooner I start..the sooner I finish.
