All three of my children are clear of the virus.  This is such a relief, now I can focus on my own care & getting better.

I am Very thankful right now.

Hi again, LTChaos, that`s excellent news, you must be so pleased and relieved!  I didn`t expect there would be any problem as it`s rare for our children to become infected by us, but it`s such great news for you to have it confirmed that they are clear!  It`s something a lot of us here can certainly relate to, and I can well remember how worried I was about my 2 kids when I was first diagnosed, but they were both fine even though my husband was also infected with Hep C.

I think you`re right in saying you need to consult with a doctor before making any plans for treatment, and you`ll need to see someone who specialises in liver disease, like a hepatologist or a GI, and preferably one who is experienced in treating people with Hep C.

Best of luck, keep us posted!  smile

Hi JIme,

Right now my AST/ALT levels are ok (only slightly elevated), and my AFP was normal & I feel mostly ok (just tired & joint pain).  My US shows no signs of damage, other than a small hemagioma - so I am waiting on the new drugs.   My hope is to start tx early next year.  I may see another Dr at NY Presbyterian, just to get the peace of mind.  I have not even seen a Dr at this point, only a PA.  She was very good, and seemed to be extremely knowledgable, but I'd really like to have a consult with a physician.
