Thanks for your advice.
If I have the opportunity to treat me, I will.

As I studied philosophy , I will give you a philosophical quote, as a Christmas gift, smile:

"Make the best use of what is in your power, and take the rest as it happens"  EPICTETUS

Epictetus ( Ancient Greek) AD  55-135. Stoic philosopher. He was born a slave.Epictetus acquired a passion for philosophy, and with the permission of his wealthy owner, he studied philosophy. Obtained his freedom, sometime after Nero's death, and began to teach philosophy in Rome.

Hi again Rebecca, yes it could be quite a wait before you`re able to have access to Sofobuvir or any of the other new drugs, and any early `compassionate access` will only apply to those with more severe liver damage.

As Malcolm said, your chances of successfully clearing the virus would be very good with the Incivek (Incivo) triple therapy, and many of our members have done very well on it.  Some people have even gained weight while taking Incivek too, because of the 20gm fat intake requirement with each dose.

Best of luck with whatever you and your doctor decide, and please do feel free to post on the forum.  You`re welcome here any time, not just while on treatment!  smile

Hi Rebeca,

Good to hear from you again. Throughout the world, most patients will be told, 'Forget Sofosbuvir for now'.  We won't see it in Australia for at least 5 years.

Don't worry about your Viral Load. A fluctuation from 88k to 1.3M is not significant.  With triple Rx (with Incivek), there is little difference between 1a and 1b. The 1b's do a little better.  With the CC genotype, you should do well, and at your age, and F2, you have >80% chance of SVR.  I lost 1 kg during my 48 weeks of triple- weight gain or loss seems to be very individual. The rate of progression from F2 to F3 is also very variable.  All alcohol must be avoided and a healthy diet and lifestyle probably helps.  In my case I went from F2 to F3-4 in 8 years. Good luck, and I hope you can get access to Rx.  Keep us posted.  Cheers.

Yesterday I had an appointment with my hepatologist. He check my viral load ( in 8 months up to 1.300.000,from 800.000 , do you know if this is significant? ) . Another lab test, normal.

We commented, about future treatments with sofosbuvir ,when approved in Europe, and the possibility  of  waiting . He told  me, firstly, time is required to fulfill all protocols and then, in Spain surely those treatments will be able just to people with serious diseases or for people who  have  not worked triple therapy. He told me to forget that idea ( to treat with sofos).
Anyway, he wants to see me in 6 months, because the doctors want the hospital consider the triple therapy for people who have F2  (such as prevention of future problems ) . He said, maybe as I am CC, I can have many possibilities to treat in 6 months, with INCIVO+INT+RIBA  But he said that genotype 1a is more difficult to cure than 1b.

Ok , in June I will know if I have that possibility. What do you think?
I find  very hard to know that I will not access sofosbuvir, ( like million  people). On the other hand, wait for what in this country?    (until I have F3 ? )

I asked him how long it goes from F2 to F3. He said, between 4-5 years.
I have another  doubt, I weight 48 kilos, How many kilos are lost during the treatment?

I dont usually write in the forum, because I'm not on treatment, but I read the post, and  you are so courageous!  Luckily I found this forum

  Thank you friends
