Hey Liam & Malcolm

I would guess Abbvie realizes that had to many Ravs in their current versions compared to the newer / 2nd generations versions. I asked Abbvie about these new versions but as usual they are not saying a word.

I too, wonder if it will cause the FDA to scratch their head (introducing a better version of their drugs before the current ones are approved)

Liam, if you can get on this new trial go with it.

Hi Liam,

Abbvie are messing with us. Their triple combo has been filed for approval, yet they introduce a new antiprotease (ABT-493) and a new NS-5A inhibitor (ABT-530). I didn't like the old antiprotease (ABT-450, boosted by Ritonavir), so are they telling us their new drugs are better? They are doing their best to fall even further behind Gilead.

Hi Liam,

So you obtained information that Abbvie is sponsoring trial that has been offered to you?

could be this one:

http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02068222

it's Abbvie's Ritonavir (protease inhibitor mostly used for HIV) in combo with ABT-450 (protease inhibitor) and ABT-530 (new NS5A protein inhibitor) with and w/o Riba. I think they passed already Phase III with similar combo for GT1, they are prolly investigating another combo for GT3.

Ritonavir has a lot of sx on it's own, i would be careful with this one. Malcolm could know a bit more around Abbvie's Ritonavir and their HCV DAAs.

best
