I was diving in Hawaii a couple of weeks ago off a boat. It's hard to avoid the sun on a mostly open boat so I wore a UV shirt, hat and spf 40. My only bad spot was on top of my head. The hair isn't as thick as it was in my younger days and while on the surface and in the shallows my head was exposed. When I went to take a warm shower afterward the water made my head hurt.
I usually don't burn or even wear sun screen half the time but the Olysio has definitely made me more sensitive but not severly.

I'm starting week 7 sovaldi/olysio and have had a problem with the sun. I covered myself with high spf sun screen, wore a hat, and decided to play golf with my sons. Forgot to spray sunscreen on my ears and have spent the past 2 weeks healing from some pretty severe sunburn, blisters, etc., a couple times i've mowed my lawn without a hat and within 10 minutes i feel a tingling, burning on my head and sure enough, i'm burnt....my energy level is increasing every day and I've had minimal side effects, insomnia is the main one and I just want to get outside and enjoy life again for the first time in 13 years since I was diagnosed ...... patience is the key.... this is a blessing of enormous proportions in my life and I'm so truly grateful !

Hope everyone is okay today !!

Mark

Are there people here on olysio and solvaldi? If so, how much are you able to be in sunlight or ultra violet light? I have not burned because I stay out of both kinds of light, either causes my skin to itch badly, even a little exposure. Otherwise, I cannot even tell I am on treatment. We were told sun exposure can either diminish the effects of olysio or cause the absorption of it to go up. I miss being out in the ocean everyday but its a small price to pay and only for 10 more weeks. My labs look fantastic! Aloha and good luck to all...
