Hi again Joyce, and thanks for your update and such good news.  Congrats to your hubby on his 8 wk post tx Und result, it`s sounding very promising and you both must be so pleased and thankful he finally had the opportunity to treat with the incivek triple, I`m aware of the long wait many people over here in the UK have had.

Your husband showed great determination in deciding to treat again after his previous attempts and especially after such difficult experiences with the dreaded `riba rage`, and the thought of it must have been quite daunting for you too.  It must have been such a relief when the treatment was so much easier than expected and such positive news is very encouraging for our members who are just starting their incivek treatment.

All the best of luck to your hubby for his next results and SVR...and we look forward to hearing from you again!

Thank you Joyce for your uplifting post! If your husband was still Und at week 8, his chance for SVR is extremely high. After week EOT+12, the risk of relapse is less than 1%. So I'm feeling pretty positive and upbeat that he has finally dealt the death blow to the beast. Of course, I'm going to knock on wood (my head) when I say such things, lol! I know he must be a strong individual for having not missed a day of work having gone through 12 weeks of Incivek, along with everything else. I know your support and positive attitude had to have provided that extra kick he needed on certain days to make it through. The support provided by all the caregivers out there can't be forgotten, not by a long shot. I think it may be one of the most under appreciated aspects of HCV treatment. Tell your husband that we're all cheering him on and wish you both the very best going forward. Do keep in touch!!

Best,  Tig

Let me try again although I think this may be a shorter post.

Thank you for your advice Tig, I do enough writing to know better than not save it so totally my fault.  Just didn't want anyone thinking I was one of these odd people who come along with daft comments trying to disrupt forums.

A quick recap, hubby was on triple with telap and undetectable at week 4.  He finished treatment late March and  was undetectable at at 8 weeks post treatment.  This was his 4th treatment and we are keeping our fingers crossed for SVR.

Each of his earlier treatments have been difficult to say the least, ribs rage hit very badly and could continue for days. Needless to say I was concerned that this treatment would be similar, it wasn't, no idea why.  OK telap is tough and its distressing to see a loved one going though it but its worth it for the result.  He managed to work throughout treatment, now i know not everyone can but it appeared to help him and keep his mind off the side effects telap brings with it.

I didn't need to use the forum much but I will always be greatful it was here should I have needed it.  Don't anyone give up your time will come.  There are many new drugs around now, fingers crossed there will be no need for forums like this in the future.

Hello again Joyce, good to hear from you!

Sorry about your lost post, how annoying and I wonder why that happened.  As Tig said, usually if you go to another page while in the middle of composing your comment your draft will still be saved for you in the reply box when you go back to it.  Better luck next time!

Anyway, hope to hear some good news about your hubby`s results from his triple therapy treatment, and going by the title of this thread it certainly sounds very promising!

Looking forward to your next instalment!  smile

The forum has some automatic back up and recovery. If you close and reopen the reply window, often a large portion (if not all) of your post will have auto saved. I've learned that whenever I'm writing a lengthy post, to copy it as I go along. It has saved me more than once. Especially when my mind was in the cloud, literally, lol!
