Josh,

the WCC ( White Cell Count) is the same as the WBC ( White Blood cell Count). Yours is normal.  Neutrophils and Lymphocytes make up most of the white blood cells. These are given as a differential. In your case, the lymphocytes are increased ( viral hepatitis) so the neutrophils will be decreased. All quite normal for us.

Treatment may cause decreased neutrophils- if this gets alarming, drugs like Neupogen may be used to increase Neutrophil production. Procrit is used to increase RED blood cell production. Relax.

Hi Josh,

I'm not sure why you're having your ammonia levels checked. These may be raised in cirrhosis. It's a very sensitive test, and you need to fast for 6 hours before. Exercise and certain drugs /supplements can all lead to high readings.

Your platelets are a bit low for a 31 y.o. Also what is your total WCC? If the lymphocytes are up, your neutrophils will be down a bit.

The IL28B test doesn't seem important for the Sovaldi regimes.

Let us know the results of your biopsy. Cheers.

While Interluken 28 B has no influence when DAAs are involved, that does not mean there is no benefit.  I have the Interluken gene and in my case for example, my current treatment is Peg/Rib, Boceprivir.  I was UND at the end of the 4 week Peg/Rib lead in period.  So no virus before I even started the DAAs.

i take it from the lack of responses that those numbers arent too alarming just yet

im not even on treatment not untill october or november but a slightly alarming readout is 36.2 L 39-80 Neutrophil count

platelet count is 143 out of 140-440 ammonia plasma was 43 H 11-35  thats why i mentioned lactoluse because i hear it sheds ammonia

but maybe these numbers arent that are not that much cause for concern ..... also my enzyme levels jumped a bit but i think it was from me working outside right before i was tested ... physical activity can throw your numbers off slightly on the ALT and AST ....  so i shall in the future try not to be under excertion before getting a blood draw .......

so Interleukin 28 has no baring at all on DAA ?

Thanks again for your guys insight saves me alot of what ifs :) have a good Wednesday :)
