Hey Duane

WOW! if this follows through it will be  paradigm shift. At every Walgreens at those prices, and even if we pay for the 1 day shipping charges it still is hundreds of dollars less and that's not to mention the cost of having to pay the doctor to request a particular blood test.

Great find and even better news for all of us.

Yep, that's what I got from the article. I don't know why there would be any resistance to it, initially. There may be something said about people wanting to self diagnose and avoid seeing their doctor in the first place. If doctors and hospitals see a revenue loss and we see an increase in illness because people aren't visiting their doctor, after too much attention to  self diagnostics, we'll see the Lobbyists fighting to place controls on its access. You watch....

See what insomnia can do ?lol

Did anyone else get the idea you could just order your own test without drs. orders?

Also i know when I was dx HCV It was reported to the CDC as I believe all infectious diseases are. Wonder how that would be handled?

Wow is an understatement! That was a great find Duane. This young lady has almost singlehandedly thrown laboratory medicine on its head! The price structure alone took my breath away! My last quantitative viral load was $1000.00+ and as you mentioned, the Theranos equivalent is $30 bucks! If I have the 23andme genetic testing performed, I'm going to hope I find this woman in my family tree! Amazing stuff from a college drop out!

Listed above is a menu of tests I believe you will be able to order yourself, for example an HCV RNA is $30.00

For those that don't have insurance or large copays  this might be really helpful, and they will start going up in Walgreens across the US and are already in a few cities.

As usual I didn't  read every scrap of info on this but it sounded interesting and it only takes a finger prick and few drops of blood to do many tests.

Edit.....maybe you still need doctors orders IDK....seems the article that lead me to the site had me thinking you could just go in and order a test and get your results, whether a Dr. Ordered them or not?
