I made it clear to my  that I will not do anything that involves  interferon , and I am dead serious.

The riba has been my main boiling point through this whole trial. There has been good and bad with it. Some days I can control it just fine. It has taught me a lot of things about myself that I wasn't even aware of. Other days I really feel like I should run and hide until the study is over and until everything has cleared out of my system. I get along fine with myself. Its just anyone else that comes within 50 feet. What brings everything back to perspective is that so many people have gone through multiple tx so much worse than this that I really have nothing to complain about. lol even the Abbvie nurse this week decided that maybe we should talk NEXT week. hehe All I said was I "was pissed at everyone." She asked. Don't ask if you don't want to know.

I am now on day 2 of week 11. Not much farther to go. I will take my last pills on Thanksgiving day. So hope that ends it. I am soooo tired of even thinking about Hep C. I can honestly say that this trial has not changed my lifestyle in any way so far. There have been no plan changes, no missed trips, and I have been pretty much on the go the whole trial.

I do have a question. I have been seeing that they are wanting to add riba to Harvoni to shorten the tx. If so doesn't that take Harvoni off the table for some people? I know if i have to go for round 2 it won't include riba.

Yes, Isis has noticed that your Mouse has a hot temper too (a very passionate mouse).  Mouse is also very crafty and deliberate, though.  Isis will have to continue to watch out for her.

For me Riba was the gasoline and it took a lot of effort to keep the sources of ignition away from me. It took some learning and a few instances of rage to show me and prove to those that knew me what the limits were. That stuff is not to be played with. I know that I'd do another round of Riba before I'd do another of Interferon though. The effects of Riba (aside from the anemia) could be almost be controlled, not so with the IFN. That stuff is evil juice in a syringe...

I loved what Jill said about riba rage teaching her how to stand up for herself.  It has done the same for me.

I`m sure you haven`t discouraged anyone by talking about your sx, Nirmalee, in fact you`ve been an inspiration in the way you`ve battled for so long to rid yourself of this virus!!

I know exactly what you mean when you say you`ve learned a lot about yourself and others along the way, and I found the same thing.  I was lucky that I only needed to do one bout of treatment but it was hard going because I started at such a low point in my health, but I found strength I didn`t know I had, and also found out who my real friends were.  Even the riba rage was a good lesson, it taught me that I could stand up for myself in no uncertain terms!!

Hopefully in time no-one will have to go through tx with interferon + riba, and I`m sure that will happen eventually.  It will take a bit longer in countries such as the UK and elsewhere though, unfortunately.

Thanks so much for sharing your journey with us, and I`m so glad you`ve finally had the chance to do this treatment with Sovaldi and Daclatasvir!

Very best of luck for SVR!!  Jill xx

Thank you Jill, don't want to discourage anyone , I was just unlucky with sides.  Hopefully these results will help with the treatment of kiddies so that they don't have to go through Interferon and now they know what to do in emergencies.  I remain grateful for this opportunity and the chance to help others.

Thank you and the forum for helping me on this voyage of discovery, I have learned a lot about myself and others.

Hi Nirmalee, great to hear you`ve reached the end of your treatment, congrats!

You`ve responded very well from the start and you should be feeling very optimistic about reaching SVR!

I`m so pleased for you that you`ve come this far, you deserve the best of luck after all you`ve been through over the last few years!  Hope your recovery goes smoothly, how are you feeling now?

Onwards and upwards, keep us posted!  ~ Jill x

Well, I've finished and have been undetectable since week 2.  My ALT went down to 30.  I am told that if those of us on Daclatsvir relapse after 12 weeks of treatment we get the 24 course.  I am hoping that this will not be necessary.  I'm also hoping to reduce my Child-Pugh score which is 7-9.  To everyone struggling out there good luck.
