Hi Tess, sorry about that, I really shouldn`t post things in the mornings before I`ve had at least 2 coffees.  Accuracy is indeed important!  smile

(Thanks Tig for correcting the link.)

Tess,

I fixed it. The link had a small error in it, a semi colon was out of place. Thanks for bringing that to our attention! It's a good piece of information that needs to be shouted from the hilltops. Accuracy is very important any time misinformation is distributed, especially when it impacts people's lives so dramatically. The HCV stigma has been hard on all of us and it needs to end.

It is indeed Rick! heh, i'm on my last weeks now, and i can't wait for the end of treatment zero, it's timing couldn't be better. After all May is National Hepatitis Month.

I help correct the misinformation, where ever i can. When i'm done with treatment i plan on attending local PTA meetings and doing some Q n As for Hepatitis: A, B, C, and NAFLD/NASH. ( I've worked at schools in the area for like 10 years)

Thank you very much Cinnamon Girl! The way the crowd-sourcing/aggregator works is huge battle, because it's something we need as many people to correct ASAP, and it needs to be on going for a while to keep that information accurate.

Hi Rick,

I`ve had a look at your link that Tig shared with me and I agree that it`s an important issue which needs highlighting.  It`s quite shocking that people can read such misleading and incorrect statements about Hep C on a google search, so by all means carry on with your post.  Anything we can do to improve the standards of online knowledge has to be a good thing.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, much appreciated.  I`ve replaced your original link back now.

Cheers ~ Jill

I'll be happy to send the feedback once we have a link.  Thanks for doing this!

It's so frustrating when damaging info continues to be spread.  Just last week my guy said he was watching a TV show about addictions, and a person who was injecting drugs said that they have HCV.  Someone on the set said, "you know you can get that from sex, right?" aaargh!    Maybe they "learned" that misinformation on google!  Luckily my guy knows the facts but so many people have no idea.

Rick (it is Rick, isn't it?) - I wish you all the best with Harvoni!  You are an inspiration. wink

Makes sense, rules are rules.

If it's easier i can also bring over the images, and just make it a post on here.

It's amazing the amount of incorrect information that is everywhere on the Internet. The vetting process of the various search engines in particular is sadly lacking. With that agreement I have to make one request. Before the forum can endorse your request, this has to be authorized by the forum administrator. Until such time that she contacts you, I must edit your blog link. After speaking to you, she will authorize you to replace it into your post. Thanks for understanding, but it is our established rule. She should reply to you as soon as possible, but probably tomorrow because she is in the UK.

I appreciate what you are doing on behalf of all affected by this kind of information.

The other day i came across a jarring issue, i noticed that when a person googles Hep C, it has breakdown of the disease. I did some more research and found that they've done it with lots of different diseases, and have consulted with doctors in making it...which would be fine

if the data were accurate. When i first wrote a blog post about a few days ago, it read "Contagious: Mainly through sexual contact"

After encouraging others to help correct the data, Sexual contact is no longer top of the list... now it reads: "Spreads Easily"no

Please click on this link for a helpful guide as to how to correct the issue:

http://canythingbutaverage.blogspot.com/2015/04/please-help-google-presently-has.html

it's important we put in the correct info as many times as possible, so that this is no longer an issue.

We also have to use the same terminology, it will have a better chance is weighing the change.
