dont know if wacky baccy is good for your liver or not.but a lot of M.S sufferers say it helps with there pain.think it should be really looked at as an alternitive to opiate as a pain killer.which has messed up a lot of lives. as for using marijuna for eot side effects its a personal choice

Hi 4L,

Many of these papers and studies are dated, but there isn't a wealth of current, official studies or legitimate research available. Seems to be scores of opinion pieces available, but there remains two distinct groups on each side of the fence. Then of course, we have the group that is sitting on the fence! That's why I provided a number of different sites to examine and hopefully provide a bit of a cross section in opinion. There's a lot of trending on the vaporizers and oils, so hopefully it will bring more interest and legitimate research on the subject. I have also heard some promising potential on it as well. The claims of benefits for pediatric epilepsy are particularly interesting.

Thanks, I value your thoughts on this! I hope you're continuing to improve and are making it through those long days on your feet. smile

That fibrosis one is from 2008!  I think more studies have proven it wrong by now.  Just guessing here.  While I haven't smoked pot in over 25 years now, I am a firm believer that hemp oil is the "drug" that will change almost every disease and treatment in the years to come.  I follow Rick Simpson and believe it has helped so many young and old.  My interests are not recreational but medicinal in nature here.  I keep reading about people who claim that the oil cured them of Hep C.  I will have to study more but I find that interesting for sure.  I need to know if they have to stay on a maintenance dose forever to stay that way or if it is gone for good.  I think Keith Richards said he healed his that way!  It has to be extracted or vaporized to use it as a medicine.

Hi Mike,

No problem discussing this here. We've had several discussions on it and really, it's a toss up and what works for you. Before going too far, just know that many insurance providers can require you to take a drug test before approving treatment. They will ask that you are substance free for no less than 6 months pre treatment. Of course most of those 6 months is going to be based on your word. Some marijuana tests can reach out a month or more. Seems these insurers want to be sure you're committed to staying substance free during treatment. The chances that you'll stay compliant are considerably higher if you're not in an altered state. According to them anyway....

Here's some information for your reading pleasure. Be sure and check out our search bar at the top. Input "marijuana" in the box and you'll see some of the discussions we've had here.

Don't know if it's bad for the liver. :)   I do KNOW that I don't need ANYTHING that may contribute to my "brain fog" being worse.  I guess the munchies could contribute to a "fatty liver" no pun intended :)   This is not good for folks with an already compromised liver.

I realize this might be a touchy subject for some and a legal and ethical issue for others, but I have been reading around the web and some people say that marijuana helps the liver and some sources say that is causes fibrosis??????????

not try to start a legal argument or any nonsense, just want honest and truthful information on the subject

does it help or not?????
