Hey Bubble,

Yeah, I did the same thing before my last and final hoorah. I took the best Milk Thistle I could find. My AST/ALT fluctuated, but was often within normal limits. Whether it had any effect on the viral load, I have some doubt. It's entirely normal to see your viral load fluctuate like the tide. If your immune system is particularly aggressive at a some point, the viral load will drop, sometimes significantly. I think the Milk Thistle provides some protection, but it's a false promise made when people claim it'll keep HCV in constant check. There are even shysters out there that will try to convince people that a normal liver function test, is indicative of remission. That's simple BS. Some consider herbal supplements beneficial, others believe they are a complete waste of money. I'm kind of stuck in the middle. If a person is having to wait for treatment and obtains some relief from their administration, while under a physicians care of course, then that's a choice the patient and their doctor have to make. As you're aware, the use of supplements does indeed alter the liver function test results, which may lead to a false sense of cure and certainly are prohibited during the course of treatment because of their impact on test results.

I'll be waiting to hear the good news regarding your latest viral load. I have little doubt that it will continue to be undetected and sustained. Good luck buddy!!

My viral load dropped from 5 to 2 million in one month. It fluctuates naturally depending on what? No one knows. I don't take herbs so compared to your result, herbs don't make a difference.

I do NOT use any herbs, over the counter medication, alcohol and I am very careful with Dr. Prescribed drugs. Some antibiotics are liver toxic.

I managed 50 years with this disease. I am stage 2/borderline 3.

Herbs can be very hard on the liver. For the last 20 years I have had a side ache, very minor, but when I got that steady, sharp minor pain I knew something was irritating the liver. I don't know if that is true, that the liver caused that pain but it was my guide to looking for liver irritants. I analyzed all substances, including sugarless gum, when that ache occurred. Livers are very sensitive.

You can live with Hep C. According to Child's Pugh, I could live another 15 to 20 years without any treatment but as we get older, we need to take medications for the ills of old age. That might speed the progression but I recommend nothing but food, preferably home cooked.

Hi All, I am almost sure the use of herbal helped me lower my viral load. After I relapsed from Interferon I hit the "recomended" liver tonics and studied Chinese Homeopathy. My viral load dropped down and remained 200k when I started VP. I was diagnosed originally with 9 million copies at the begining of the Pegasys treatment. I wondered for 8 yrs. waiting for the new cures. I had to try something. Please dont think this will cure you by any means. I am not advocating it's use to you.  Just my 2 cents.

Got my bloodwork done Saturday for my SVR 24 !   (Actually SVR 32,Doc has been busy) Waiting and hoping. Will post.

I am glad you have a choice of taking or not taking the drugs. For 50 years, there weren't any drugs.

Hep C can be calmed and quieted. IT is possible to live with Hep C. No drugs, no alcohol, good food and a very positive healthy life style.

When I was younger, that was easy enough but as we age, we develop other health problems that require drugs or treatment. Arthritis, cholesterol, all require medicines that are hard on the liver and some will make the dragon roar.

It would be wise to consider the new Hep C medicines that are becoming available. Go to a regular Dr. The sooner you get rid of this the sooner you don't have to worry about getting another condition or illness such as TB which is untreatable because of the liver problems.

I realize that obtaining the drugs due to costs is a problem. But if I can't obtain the drugs, all I can say is "So What's New?" I have lived without treatment and I will continue to do so. But if I can obtain the drugs and I determine they are safe and reliable, it will make my life so much easier.

Hiya HS

A good diet and life style is good for you. I would keep up with your Doctor on a treatment. For years before there was a real treatment there were a lot of hep c websites that said this or that MIGHT work or help but most of them were just out to make money on our fear. There was only one group that banded and tested a substance but that was a long time ago and with the treatments now they are history. Stick with your Doctor for a real treatment along with eating and living healthy.

Best of luck to you and keep us informed.

Hello Hepwell

Welcome to the forum, your have found a good place with people with great insight who really care.

As far as your question of healing HCV naturally, if you have had Hep-C for longer than several months or years. You like most of us on the forum have developed "Chronic Hepatitis" which means your bodies natural way of fighting and beating off the virus has fought and lost the fight. Many including myself started out with positive belief with we could beat the virus with strict diet and herbal remedies but found out that this does not work and can & has caused liver toxicities. The natural approach is a admirable, and your own body like I mentioned gave it its best try, and as of yet no one has found the correct herb to eradicate it yet. But the good news is big Pharma has drugs that will do the job that your body could not do. Hoping the best for you .

I am not an expert but I have known I had this disease for 50 years.

I have never tried to cure it with herbal medicine. I studied herbs for a long time as part of other interests but I never saw one I thought would work on my particular condition. I have taken various herbs and vitamins for other conditions but alas, either it wasn't tailored to Hep C or it didn't work.

I have lived on fresh fruits for periods of time. Again, not to get rid of the Hep but because I was living alone and that was what I liked to eat.

My father had arthritis so bad he often in great pain and couldn't move. He swore by high acid fruit diet and honey. I tried it for a while because I was visiting.

I was a vegan for a while.

After 50 years I suppose I have tried all kinds of herbs and diets for various reasons, not directly for Hep C but just the same. It never yielded to any regimen except a well balanced diet, no drugs, no herbal teas or concoctions, good rest and no drugs.

The worst times when I was reminded that I had it were times of stress, losing a job or a loved on or other major life changes. I never took anything for the stress either because Hep C, or rather my liver does not like anything except food, rest and good health. The times when I have had symptoms were during times of stress or when I had another illness. Then I also had Hep C with symptom.

After 50 years, if there were any combination of things that would cure Hep C, it wasn't in all my daily bread. I still have it.

Hello Everyone,

I am 49 and was diagnosed with Hep C Genotype 3a on 19th August 2015 Viral Load 1005000.

Not sure how I got this last Tattoo 15 years ago.

My Dr is now looking at treatment options available in Malaysia where I live.

In the meantime I have switched to a high fruit mainly raw diet and I am taking herbal medicine from Dr Morse in the USA. I cant find anyone who says that they cured hep c naturally (I would prefer to do this naturally but I see people cured by drugs)

Thanks in advance this is a very tough decision
