I have a friend who also happens to be infected with Hep C.  I last saw him in June, when in my eyes, he just did not look well.  I opened the conversation with news of my Harvoni treatment and my Hep C affliction.

He shared with me news of his recent discovery; he also has Hep C and  was to begin treatment with Harvoni in July.

Well, I just saw him and was shocked at how sick he looked.  Jaundiced and thin.  Oh, and he never got the needed treatment because the VA told him that they ran out of medication!   Ran out of medication?

Yes, he is a veteran of the Vietnam war.  I feel like someone punched me in the gut.  How could I get treated and he not?  When will those at the top of the food chain admit that they have made enough money?  Probably never...

I am sick to my stomach over this.
