Correction to my last post. The Facebook page is Hepatitis C Treatment w/o Borders. I'm still learning here and didn't realize you can edit your posts, so I just corrected it.

Hi Acer, like many now here in Australia I imported the Indian Sofosbuvir because unlike Abb Vee and BMS, the nice people at Gilead wont give their ridiculously priced drug compassionate access to our hospitals. My other partner drug Daclastasvir was supplied by my hospital fortunately. It's such a shame the US can't access these generic meds. For more info you should look up Greg Jefferies on Facebook and also the Facebook page he is associated with - Hepatitis C Treatment w/o Borders. Lots of good info and stories there.

Tigs posts permanently list a website for financial help with Hep C drugs in the US.  It is wonderful that the drugs from India can be available to those in many countries where the availability or costs are prohibitive.

wellcome to the forum.tigs right greg jefferies blogs are spot on.ive been to india a number of times and can say that their medical facilities are brilliant.i heard about the generic non interferon meds about 4years ago but i was broke at the time so there was no way i could get the meds.greg went for it despite what people said and opened the door to people who couldnt get tx in the west.am sure if i'd been able to get tx 4 years ago i would not have the problems i have now due to the virus.you did'nt say what country you live in and tig said theres problems getting indian generics in the usa.have a read of gregs blogs they are very interesting.keep in touch mate let us know how you get on                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     william

Hi Acer,

Welcome to the forum! Unfortunately it's illegal to import these medications into the US. Australia and the UK have relaxed restrictions, but not the good ol USA. Here's a link to a Hep C Advocate, Greg Jefferys. He has done more to advance the access to generics than anyone I know. He has quite an interesting story and I encourage you to search through the various sections of his blog. It's a wealth of information. If we can offer you any other advice, please let us know.

Hi: Has anyone been to India for treatment or imported drugs from there to the U.S.? I'm interested in ledipasvir and sofosbuvir (for genotype 1a). What can you tell me about distributors or things to be aware of? (PM me if that's best.) Thanks a bunch!
