It was the same thread but I linked to the start of it ... but it was a bit confusing, I'll admit.

Here's a link to "The Sovaldi - Riba Train", I'll be there in the AM.

They're loading the coal car as we speak ...

I'm off to catch some Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ... (not to be confused with the Dzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz).

You're up late Tig ...

Dave

Hey Dave,

You already started the Sovaldi/Riba Train! Make it your go to place. I know that's where I'm following your journey for the time being. It's up to you though! Good luck, it starts in a matter of hours!! You got this, not to worry! smile

Hi All,

Just curious if there's a "Sovaldi + Riba Train" for us GT 2'ers, if not I suppose I can hitch a ride on the Harvoni Train ... probably won't get kicked off, at least not till the next station. Maybe I can bribe the conductor.whisper.gif

Haven't even made it to the train station yet so I guess it's a moot point till then ...

Thanks Tig, I'll keep that in mind for sure. No marathon's I promise ... lol.

I walk less than 3 mph so it's not too strenuous.

I bring water along and am very conscious of staying hydrated. (Also bring my cell phone so I can call my wife if I ever feel at all exhausted).

My goal is to try and get a minimum of 3 hours exercise per week, I'm pretty close for this week so I can take a couple days off.

Once I start Tx I'd like to keep exercising some but reduce the distance, maybe walk at a slower pace too. I may find that isn't going to work but will give it a try to see how it goes.

Hey Linux,

Your routine is impressive! Don't wear yourself out though, your body is fighting a battle right now. Fatigue can be a real issue, so keep it in mind. Getting adequate rest and maintaining proper hydration will hopefully keep the side effects at bay.  Everything sounds great, good luck!

Lemon juice, water, coffee oatmeal w/raisins.

Another walk, 3.6 miles today, light rain/snow

Water, lemon & cranberry juice then rest.

Whew, walk felt good!

Linux,
You are sure doing all the right things! I applaud you on being so proactive, the waiting on insurance approval can be a nerve-wracking time for sure. I went through that waiting for the same meds as you and it didn't work out for me, but things have been improving every month and I'm sure things will work out in your favor! And unlike last year there are other options available. Here's hoping your 2016 is filled with nothing but happiness and SVR!

Hi All,

Just killing time and reporting in, I won't really know if I am actually getting meds for another month or two (I'm assuming that I will unless I'm informed otherwise somewhere down the road).

In the mean time I've been making as many lifestyle changes as possible to increase my odds of ridding my body of this HCV beast and giving my liver an easier ride than it's seen since I was a teenager ... many hundreds of moons ago.

Drinking LOTS of unsweetened juices mixed with pure lemon, LOTS of water in between and doing my best to eat a healthy diet. I think salt is one of the toughest things to avoid (not that I like it, I don't ... just that everything processed has copious amounts and I find it difficult to not eat Anything processed). Changing my diet is bit of a battle in itself (I'm doing fair at it, I think).

In spite of a dusting of snow, I've gotten out for walks yesterday and today, 2.5 and 3 miles respectively. It feels great and the cold air tends to clear my sinuses as an added bonus. I'm hoping it will also help me sleep better (I haven't even begun treatment and I have a difficult time getting to sleep).

Started a log to give me some incentive in being consistent and I'm documenting progress on all fronts.

My intention is to hit the ground running when I get the meds and not skip a beat.

I'm finding this all a good time to make changes and get out of some of the ruts I've been stuck in for many years. I thought giving up alcohol was going to be difficult, it's really not ... I want to enjoy the rest of my life and don't need alcohol or tobacco slowing me down. Those two can be demons in themselves, I'm really glad to be rid of them. Not to say that I don't get pangs every now and then, I do, but they get farther and farther apart as time goes on and enjoying life takes their place.

So I'm donning my armor but I'm still waiting on hearing from the swordsmith ... I'm psych'd but a bit nervous about what lies in the not too distant future ... but I've fought battles before and won, just never fought a war before.

I'd better quit now, I'm rambling for sure.

To All, Be Well,

Linux
