Everything looks great Dave! I've got to get on my computer and do some reading. My iPad isn't being very user friendly for some reason, me I'm sure. If you keep this up I'm going to find some other projects for you!! Thanks for all the effort you're putting forth here. It's much appreciated!

These all look like great ideas. I started using an app for Iphone or Ipad called water minder this past summer.

It will let you set what your quota is and as long as you enter your intake will chart and keep track of the percent you are taking. You can even make a custom size if you drink bottled water that might be 17 oz.  Its free and a great little app.

Attached is a "Daily" Meds Food Exercise journal (3 days per page) for charting daily progress.

I made this form in LibreOffice Calc and tried to keep it easy to use but fairly complete with ample room for notes.

(3 days per page times 28 Pages = 84 days Tx).

Option A:

You can download and print out the attached PDF file and use pen or pencil.

Note: Printer settings are Letter size and Landscape settings.

-----------

Option B:

You can download the Excel® spreadsheet template and just check the boxes with mouse and fill in date, times and notes using keyboard.

Note: Works with MS_Office Excel®, Apache OpenOffice Calc and LibreOffice Calc

Link to a Free Open Source Office Suite (LibreOffice) ... it imports/ exports all MS Office® files and installs to any version of Windows®/ Mac®/ Linux (Included so anyone can use the Attached Spreadsheet if they want to)

Template is very easy to use:

1) Make sure you have one of the Office programs above installed.

2) Download the XLT file below.

3) Double-Click the file that you downloaded.

Yes, thanks, and I want to develop good habits now cause I am hopeful that some day I too will see successful tx and be Hep C free.

Great idea to monitor your daily progress, Mike, and I`m glad to see you using our calendar function, which is there for any of our members to make use of.

It`s good to see so many useful ways of tracking progress being shared here, and thanks Linux for taking the time to make those spreadsheets, very helpful of you.

Personally, I`m still stuck in pen and paper mode (must be my age!), but whichever way people chose to record daily information, as long as it works for you that`s the main thing.  I found it very useful to keep a daily journal while I was on tx, certainly.

Keep going and best of luck!

Nicely done Dave! I would like to have more knowledge on developing spreadsheets. I've never had much luck setting up something useful! Might have to pick your brain sometime. I'll open these on my computer and have a better look, but they look very good on my small tablet. Thanks for taking the time to do this. smile

Here's a MS Word document that I made, nothing fancy, it could be used in MS Word or printed out (I attached a PDF file to print out if interested).

I can edit it to suit if anyone wants something a little different.

Linux

Picture is just for reference, not very good graphics (PDF or DOC files are better resolution and easier to read).

I tried the iPhone Health App that comes with the phone but found it had too many bugs in it. I do have my information all recorded in my iPhone for emergencies that can be accessed from a locked screen.

I use the phone calendar and a lot of the alerts to steer me through the complexities of life. I really wouldn't be without a smartphone now I have learnt how useful it is for frogbrained and exhausted people.

I have tried food intake and sleep apps but never kept up with them. I do regularly use the free version Runkeeper for tracking my walking, all going well I planning on walking a half marathon in June, Runkeeper is a marvellous help with that.

Thanks for mentioning Mango Health Tig - I'll check that out.

I agree with Tig that you can lose interest if it isn't easy - that's been my experience.

I installed a free app on my iPhone called "Mango Health". It offers many of the things you speak of. An alarm/reminder for your medication, a way to document moods, etc. It's very useful. There are some programs out there, I'll see if I can find them. It helps to decide how detailed you want to make it. If it's too lengthy, you may find yourself losing interest.

Your link is fine Lnx, thanks for checking.

Hi Linuxter,

I am not that good at computers, but what would be easier that hand written, is to be able to post the document onto the corresponding day on the calendar.  Do you think this can be done? I really don't know. And yes, documentation of moods is really a good one.

I use Thunderbird email client which has an add-on (Lightning) that incorporates a calendar which allows entries, reminders etc which might be along the lines that you are thinking. It's open source so free to download and install. There are versions for Windows as well as other operating systems. I can see it could be used in the way you describe to document daily activities.

I can't speak with any certainty since I don't use Windows but I would imagine Windows 10 has something similar by default (not sure, however).

If your version of Windows doesn't have this feature you might consider trying Thunderbird with Lightning add-on, like I said it's free.

I don't think a link to open source software is considered advertising so hopefully admin won't mind my sharing the link.

Edit: If so, I apologize and admin should feel free to delete it.

Another good subject Mike.

I certainly have a HepC folder with documentation to date (I still need to get some copies of some tests from my PCP) ...but I like the idea of a daily log. Ideally such a log would cover Meds, Food/ liquids intake, Exercise and Notes (for things such as mood, side effects, [if any] etc).

For me it would be easier in (electronic) spreadsheet form that I could print out for doctor visits or later comparison etc.

I think I'll look around to see if I can find a decent template for Office and customize it.

If anyone knows of such a template, please let me know.

Thanks for planting the idea Mike ... I'm a little helter-skelter with my paperwork documentation but could probably be more disciplined if I were using a spreadsheet.

Hi Mike, you are much more disciplined than I.  Was exercising and watching my diet until Thanksgiving, but that went by the wayside.  I had lost almost 15 lbs. but have put much of it back on since Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the New Year.  Guess I need to start paying more attention.  Been enjoying fishing and boating again but still have the joint issues.  Keeping busy and moving really helps with this.  I notice things seem to get worse when laying down.  Probably would have charted progress when on tx, not so inclined at this point.  Good luck in sticking to this.

Hi Mike,

I commend you on your worthwhile effort to maintain a journal. I did the same thing throughout treatment and it has been very interesting, to say the least, to look back on my entries. I was experiencing some serious fatigue and brain fog during those months and looking back on it now, I'm amazed at how many things I completely forgot or simply don't remember doing. The information is very helpful, especially when you keep accurate files on your testing and personal experiences. Keep it up, you're doing a good thing and it can be useful in many instances. If you've got any experience with flow sheets, setting up something on your computer is another good method of keeping track.

I hope you're feeling well and sticking to your goal. We're rooting for you buddy! smile

Hello,

I read in the HCSP that we should complete a daily log in order to chart progress, and to establish what steps have been taken to result in positive changes.  I recently started this, and find it rewarding, in that it allows me the opportunity to ensure I am following all the rules, and it keeps me motivated as well.  I am keeping track of types of foods consumed, amount of sleep, whether or not I logged into Hep C Discussion Forum, and if I exercised.  I keep track of calorie intake, and what juices I drink, and how much water I consume.  It is a simple form, something I put into my journal folder, so it is available for easy reference. I would like to know if there are others who do this, and if they feel it is a good idea.

Mike
