Gosh that's rough Sherri - do you have any other options for income until this gets sorted?

All the best for a good outcome, maybe once you have cleared the virus your career can get back on track?

I worked in education when I was first diagnosed and informed my superior as a curtesy. There were no issues at all. But I am in New Zealand and it seems from reading this forum that rules and regulations are a lot different here.

Hello.  I recently relocated to Los Angeles from out of state. I am a special education teacher. After spending months working on credentialing and application processes, I was finally approved for hire with LAUSD. The last step needed was the physical exam. Well, the dr refused to pass me because I carry this virus. He said that I must first see a specialist. The irony is that, in addition to requesting a physical exam, I had also requested a referral because I'm now interested in the newer treatments available. Otherwise, the dr. would not have even known that I have the virus. Ugh. So, now my career has been adversely affected and I feel so very lost. I didn't expect this and ended up yelling at the dr., who in turn yelled at me. Then I cried for a couple of hours.

Has anyone else experienced a roadblock to employment because of the HCV?
