I think what it really means is Lysol is about to go to $1,000 a bottle.

So this means that the people who filter it through bread or not and drink it before the liquor store opens won't get hep c ?????LOL

Maybe it's just suggesting that if Hep C patients would SQ a half teaspoon into their legs or belly once a week, it'd kill the Hep C virus in their systems?  We've got to face the fact that they're going to say everything they can to make another dime.  If their target audience was the religious right I wouldn't put it past them to say that the stuff kills the "gay germ" too/

Age 64 Geno 1a  Diagnosed 11/14/14 with 6.3 mill VL after 40ish years of infection.  Harvoni tx started 8/15.  SVR12 Feb 4, 2016  Last appt with specialist was told to have my gp order metabolic testing once or twice a year because his services weren't needed any longer.  Still happy dancing.

The way I see it they are probably capitalizing on the new Big Pharma Commercials that are everywhere now, not to mention news feeds like BS ad Dr. Greedy. The Harvoni Commercial in particular runs a lot.

That has a lot of folks thinking about Hep C including those that never heard of it.

On the one hand the commercial is pretty lame. On the other however it should be considered that anything that brings more attention tends to chase Him out of the Cave and into the light.

Continued awareness in a growing number of people can also affect the cost of treatment.

Stupid yes. Useful maybe. Six or half dozen is all how you look at it.

Sure...pic your battles. This should be it. (Oh... it was for their wipes not spray )

This is like when people thought you could get AIDS from being in the same room with them,  or hugging someone that is HIV pos. They are completely negligent. They were sued once before for claiming spraying the aresol in the air would prevent the flu.

Oh crap, or was it Listerine that said gargling would prevent colds and the flu...

....in any case this is a huge step backwards. I already know enough people who are convinced you can get it through casual contact.  Now we have an add enforcing that idea?

Good luck with that retraction, I think the ONLY thing that would set them straight is a lawsuit and no doubt they have their legal tail covered one way or another ... This ad seems particularly deceptive but then again, I put no weight in any of them, I think "Truth in Advertising" is a thing of the past and long gone ... I just don't watch them ... problem solved.

Although I completely agree with you Iris, I feel we need to choose our battles most carefully ... I do hate how it uses HCV to promote their product in a way that is not even remotely correct but then again I just hate advertising period.

Lysol spray or cleaner 

Has anyone seen this new commercial...loks like it's set in a classroom and the teacher has a board with all the things the aerosol will wipe away. Hepatitis C was at the top of the list.

Is this responsible advertising?  It would appear by this add that the virus is on surfaces or in the air? I'm absolutely flabbergasted. With as hard as it already is with misconceptions. This seems over the top.

Shouldn't they be set straight, and then print a retaction?evileye
