That's great news Mike, wishing you an easy ride. 8 to 12 weeks with no ribaviron sounds like a walk in the park - you'll be picking the roses in no time.

Warm regards

Ari

Great news,

My hubby beat his last year but didn't totally believe it until four months later when his viral count was still 0.....Wishing you the best with the Harvoni....he battled his through six prior treatments over the last 20 years.  Then the miracle got approved. Best wishes.

Thanks Mike. It may be good to ask them. People who have never been treated before who do not have cirrhosis and who have a Hep C viral load below 6 million IU/mL may be eligible for eight weeks of treatment. Speak to your doctor about this.

The key words to me are the term, "may be".

Clearly you are below the 6m but I would ask regarding A or B simply due to the fact B seems to be easier to cure. The fact the term may be is used tells me your Doctor should have all of the facts before him or her before deciding between 8 or 12.

That you are looking to The LORD tells me that you should hang on to Romans 8:31 and you will do fine!

Your Brother

JimmyK, I do not know yet if I have 1a or 1b. I just learned today it is genotype 1. The way the nurse sounded today, they are hoping the 8 week will do, and that during that treatment period they will monitor my numbers, and that will help them to determine whether or not to proceed from eight to 12 weeks. And, your all so much like family to me. I hope the treatment is successful.

As you remember I started a Hep C Support Group here locally, and the nurse today, told me I am welcome to bring her copies of the website and my name and contact info, and she will pass on to persons who may be in need of support. I am telling you, the Lord is Blessing me by opening doors, I am so very thankful.

What great news Mike!

If possible push for the 12 weeks. Are you 1a or 1b?
