Hi, and thank you for the nice welcome. I did 12 weeks of Harvoni and was told that I had obtained SVR. 7 months post EOT, I started feeling weak and so tired. I went to the doctors, and had labs drawn. What a letdown to be told that I had relapsed. I was crushed after feeling wonderful and healthy for months. My GI wanted me to wait for a clinical study, which would be in 6 more months. I fought to begin Vpak/Riba immediately. I called her office daily, called her cell phone, sent emails and texts, until she agreed to give me the go ahead. I didn't want to wait, I had been sick for way too long. I don't believe in wasting time, I wasted enough of my time already. You should be fine, you have had 24 weeks of Harvoni and I only had 12. Keep me informed....I am excited for you. Way to go!!

Hi Bonnie and welcome from me as well. Wow, you did have a tough time achieving SVR and I admire your determination that it took to do so. And another thank you from me for you positive input which helps those still in the battle to have hope. I am curious at what point after you completed 12 wks Harvoni did you again get a positive viral load result? I completed 24 weeks Harvoni in January after previously failing 24 wks Sovaldi / Ribavirin in 2014. I just had my blood drawn today for EOT +3 month labs. Got my fingers crossed and toes too for my viral load to still be UND. biggrin

Hi Bonnie,

Most of us have our information listed in either our signature line or in our profile bio. I completed treatment in December 2013 and was successful. Had to do two rounds, but well worth it to kill the beast!

Hi Syd,

I have obtained SVR. I have had three different treatments, and the last one, was the charm. I am here to lend a helping hand, an ear, advice, or encouragement. Hope you are well.

Hi Tig56,

I am not aware of everyone's status with HCV, so I hope that I don't say the wrong thing to anyone. Are you still battling the dragon? It has to be the biggest battle of my life, and the longest. It has been like a roller coaster ride, and I am so happy that it's over. I was bedridden for years, so weak and debilitated. I thought that I would die. At the end of my last treatment, my strength came back and I was able to function, and everything started to normalize. Talk about feeling as if you were in heaven. It felt great to get outside and cut the lawn, feel the breeze on my skin, and to be able to all of the things that I missed out on for so long.

Sorry to start rambling, but I get so  excited when I start talking about being free! It has been such a horrible ordeal, but I am now able to enjoy being among the living again. Best of luck....

Hi Cinnamon Girl,

Thanks for the welcome. As you know, it is a very difficult path, but it is easier when you have others to share your problems with. This is an awesome site and I know it will help many. We can help one another, by sharing our experiences. I know that eventually, we will all be free of the virus, and a vaccine will be here. I hope that I can help, if even in a small way. It's time to give back. Take care~

Hello Bonnie, welcome!

Thanks for sharing your story with us, how fantastic that you finally achieved your SVR!  You obviously have great determination, and I know it can`t have been easy for you, especially having to deal with the side effects from interferon and ribavirin.

We`re always happy to hear of another success story, and thanks again for such an encouraging and uplifting post!  Wishing you all the best of luck with your return to working life!  smile

Welcome Bonnie! So glad you're here and introduced yourself. Congrats on finally achieving SVR! You definitely paid some heavy dues to get there.

I appreciate your willingness to join and help others reach their goal. You're already a warm and welcome member of the family. Your advice and support will be welcomed by all of us.

I hope you are recovering nicely and losing the extrahepatic manifestions you may have developed along your difficult path to success. Sharing those stories can be helpful to everyone. Thanks for your help and upbeat message!

I appreciate it Bonnie. I am pretty confident this time. My Doctor desperately wants me out of his hair so he prescribed the bomb. LOL

Jimmy, You will get there. I think Harvoni would have worked for me, had I had 24 weeks, instead of 12. I felt like a new person after the Tx., but I relapsed. I just got back up, and tried again. Good luck~

Hi Dave. I hope I am responding in the correct place. Thank you for the welcome. I am very happy to have SVR. I relapsed after 12 weeks of Harvoni. My labs said UND, but 7 months post TX, I started feeling sick again. As soon as I found out that it was back, I began Vpak and riba, the following month. I wasn't going to wait, I had already been sick long enough. I am glad to be here and I hope that I can help others.

Thanks. Not yet free getting ready to start 24 weeks of Harvoni. Failed the V-Pack / RBV combo.

Hi Bonnie, Welcome.

What an interesting story. You did Harvoni and failed and went to V-Pack and RBV and won. I am just the opposite.

Enjoy the freedom!

Hello everyone. I have had HCV for about 25 years. I am an RN and contracted HCV through a blood-splash from an infected patient. It has been a long road. I am a genotype1b, with cirrhosis. I treated first with interferon/Riba, Next was Harvoni, and last with Viekira/Riba. I am  going on 7 months, post treatment, and all is well, it is undetected. Don't ever give up! I never thought there would be a cure in my lifetime, but I was wrong. I have not been able to work in ten years, but am happy to say, I will be returning very soon.biggrin
